Gulf of America Logistics ( GoAL ) is seeking a driven and hands-on Operations Supervisor to support daily execution of domestic trucking and international logistics operations.

This role is responsible for overseeing dispatch, coordinating freight movements, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting pricing and customer service initiatives.

This is an emerging leadership role designed for an experienced logistics professional who has begun supervising others and is ready to grow into a full management position through mentorship, development, and increased responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Execution

  • Supervise daily dispatch, routing, and load execution for domestic trucking operations, including heavy haul and specialized freight
  • Coordinate international shipments, including imports/exports, documentation, and communication with carriers, brokers, and partners
  • Ensure efficient load planning, driver utilization, and on-time pickup/delivery performance
  • Monitor and manage operational KPIs (on time %, dwell time, utilization, cost per load) and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Troubleshoot service failures and resolve issues in real time to maintain customer satisfaction

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure adherence to DOT, FMCSA, and Hours of Service (HOS) regulations
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards
  • Support incident investigations and corrective action planning

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and support a team of dispatchers and logistics coordinators
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members
  • Monitor performance, provide feedback, and support employee development
  • Serve as a working supervisor, stepping into operational roles as needed

Customer & Financial Performance

  • Maintain strong communication with customers to ensure service expectations are met or exceeded
  • Support pricing and quoting activities, including rate development and margin awareness
  • Understand the relationship between operational decisions and profitability
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve service delivery and operational efficiency

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Utilize and optimize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) for dispatch, tracking, and reporting
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation and data entry across systems
  • Support development and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, automation, and reporting

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced logistics environment, managing both international logistics operations and domestic trucking
  • Willingness to take a hands-on approach, stepping into dispatch and operational tasks as needed
  • Flexibility to handle ad hoc issues, resolve service challenges in real time, and support continuous operations
  • Strong focus on service delivery, compliance, and operational performance
  • Ability to balance customer expectations, cost control, and regulatory requirements in day-to-day decision-making
  • Availability outside standard working hours when required to support transport and logistics activities
  • Occasional travel may be required based on operational needs

Experience & Requirements

  • 3–7 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or trucking operations
  • Experience with heavy haul, oversize, or specialized freight strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and HOS regulations
  • Experience with international logistics and freight forwarding processes
  • Prior experience leading or mentoring team members (formal management experience not required)
  • Strong understanding of pricing, rate structures, and cost drivers in trucking/logistics
  • Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS): Magaya experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills

Certificates/Security Clearances/Other

  • Diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, or a related field preferred
