The Planning and Scheduling Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, monitoring, and controlling the integrated project schedule and progress measurement system. This role ensures accurate schedule stewardship, effective progress tracking, and timely identification of trends or deviations from plan. The Planning and Scheduling Engineer works closely with project controls, planning leadership, and project teams to support schedule integrity, change management, and performance reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

Job Description
The Planning and Scheduling Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, monitoring, and controlling the integrated project schedule and progress measurement system. This role ensures accurate schedule stewardship, effective progress tracking, and timely identification of trends or deviations from plan. The Planning and Scheduling Engineer works closely with project controls, planning leadership, and project teams to support schedule integrity, change management, and performance reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and control the overall project schedule in alignment with the work breakdown structure, project plan, and approved estimates
- Establish, implement, and manage progress measurement systems, including verification and reporting processes
- Review and evaluate contractor schedules for logic, level of detail, interfaces, sequencing, and consistency with control plans
- Define schedule requirements, reporting standards, and issue frequencies for schedule deliverables
- Monitor contractor performance related to planning, progress measurement, and schedule control
- Review and validate progress reports to ensure accuracy of reported progress and quantities completed
- Analyze schedule performance, trends, and variances; identify deviations and potential risks to schedule objectives
- Assess the schedule impact of proposed and approved changes and incorporate impacts into the integrated schedule
- Support development and implementation of corrective actions and recovery plans when adverse trends are identified
- Coordinate with project controls and planning leadership to communicate schedule risks, mitigation strategies, and recovery recommendations
- Review and assess short-term, mid-term, and detailed schedules to ensure alignment across project activities and disciplines
- Analyze planned versus actual quantities and productivity metrics across engineering, procurement, and construction disciplines
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project controls, planning, or scheduling roles
- Demonstrated experience in schedule development, progress measurement, and schedule control
- Strong understanding of work breakdown structures, cost and schedule integration, and change management
- Experience reviewing contractor schedules and progress reporting for accuracy and compliance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends and impacts
- Proficiency in scheduling, reporting, and analytical tools; strong computing skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, influencing, and consulting skills
- Ability to multitask and respond effectively to urgent analysis and reporting requests
- Adaptability to changing priorities in dynamic project environments
- Experience with project management practices including resource management, cost, schedule, and scope control
- Familiarity with procurement support, contract administration, change order evaluation, and deliverable management
- Willingness to work in a team environment and relocate as require
Pay: $48/per hr
