A versatile position within a dynamic nonprofit that helps communities recover after disasters and gets children back in school. The position is Temporary
and will be a member of the Disaster Assistance Response Team and be deployed to assist in post-disaster assessments and program start-up, primarily in the U.S. It has the potential to transition into a longer term staff role, should the response require it.
All Hands and Hearts continually seeks talented and hard-working people who are eager to assist disaster survivors on a reservist basis. This position is on a hired as-needed basis and will be limited to a term of 1-3 months with the potential to extend if needed, depending on the size of the response. Interviews for this position happen on a rolling basis and candidates are hired as needed for 1-3 months immediately following a disaster.

Essential Functions
Support the U.S. Response Manager and Rapid Response Manager Specialist with disaster assessment and program development by:
Providing training and guidance in response scopes to different audiences such as volunteers.
Identifying unmet needs in disaster-impacted communities.
Assisting with program start-up including but not limited to, finding a base of operations, connecting with local stakeholders, and coordinating logistics.
Assessing cases and building a work queue as needed.
Assist in field coordination and volunteer management as needed.
Assist in database management using the Salesforce platform.
Building relationships with local emergency management agencies and NGOs.
Lead teams of staff and volunteers in response scopes such as gutting, mold sanitation and tree removal projects. Offer skilled troubleshooting and technical advice on chainsaw, construction, and tarping related worksites, as needed and dependent on skillset
Communicate tasks and expectations clearly to team members; provide effective technical training and constructive feedback when necessary to ensure compliance with project safety and quality standards.
Maintain records of work completed including tracking material usage, volunteer hours, and scopes performed.
Work with the Operations and Health, Safety & Security departments to develop and implement safety standards and protocols for the response and program start up.

Position Requirements
Education High School Diploma or equivalent
Related Experience 6+ months in leading teams in a post-disaster or similar setting. Experience in working with NGOs, All Hands and Hearts, AmeriCorps, DARTs or similar settings preferred.
Special Competencies/Certifications Good written and oral communication skills and confident working with Google Workspace, particularly Google Docs and Google Sheets; and Microsoft Office. Applicants need to be well organized and have a flexible approach to managing multiple tasks and prioritizing them appropriately. The individual is able to manage a large workload and perform in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits (US Program)
Typical starting salary is $14.00 - $15.00/hour, and up to $16.00 for highly qualified candidates who have previous experience in this role
