We are seeking a Civil / Structural Engineer with at least 7 years of experience supporting power delivery infrastructure projects, specifically focused on high-voltage substations and transmission line facilities.
This is an opportunity to join a growing engineering team working on critical utility and renewable interconnection projects across the U.S. You’ll play a key role in designing the civil and structural components that support reliable grid modernization.
Responsibilities
Perform civil and structural design for substation and transmission line projects (AIS/GIS facilities, foundations, steel structures, site development).
Develop engineering deliverables including:
Foundation and structure calculations
Grading, drainage, and erosion control plans
Equipment support structures
Structural steel and concrete design packages
Coordinate with electrical and protection/control teams to ensure integrated substation design.
Support design reviews, field walkdowns, and construction-phase engineering services.
Work directly with utility clients, EPC partners, and internal multidisciplinary teams.
Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (ACI, AISC, ASCE, IEEE, local/state regulations).
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
7+ years of relevant experience in civil/structural engineering
Experience supporting power delivery projects, including: Substation site design, Transmission line structural/foundation work, utility or energy infrastructure environments
Proficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD, SAP2000, or similar
Strong understanding of engineering codes and design best practices
Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 12 months
Experience working directly with utility clients (AEP, National Grid, Duke etc.)
Familiarity with EPC project execution and construction support
Knowledge of transmission line structure loading and foundation design
