We are looking for a Sr. Credit Manager to join our team! As a Senior Business Purpose Credit Manager, you are the Credit expert responsible for ensuring the proposed loan meets or exceeds our company guidelines & requirements. The Underwriter’s loan decision must adhere to our investor requirements and shall always be made based on the collective interest of our company, secondary market investor, and borrower. The position requires ethical, highly detail-oriented, analytical, organized, and experienced underwriting professionals with the desire to go the “extra mile” and seeking to grow with our company. What You’ll Do:

  • Completely Underwrite Business Purpose Rental & Short Term (Fix/Flip, Bridge, New Construction) mortgage loans in compliance with company credit guidelines & regulatory requirements.
  • Review all loan terms, LTV/LTC, DSCR, assets, reserves, collateral, title, and insurance meet program guidelines.
  • Review loan files & documentation for completeness, identify any missing documentation, and generate a condition list for all parties to the loan file: Borrower, Loan Processor, Business Partner, and Sales Reps.
  • Collaborate with the Processor and Sales Rep. to address any credit, collateral, or qualifying challenges in a proactive & positive manner.
  • Ensure all loan level data for the loan file is entered into the loan origination system and company pipeline management database timely & accurately.
  • On an on-going basis, review and clear any conditions submitted for Credit review, and be diligent & responsible for reviewing and owning all loan file details prior to submission to Pre-Closing Audit.
  • Collaborate with the Loan Processor, QC, and Loan Closer to ensure timely & complete hand-off of loan files deemed Clear-to-Close.
  • Manage pipeline and prioritize to ensure loans close on time with a high degree of accuracy in a very tight deadline-oriented environment.
  • Identify and report any suspected misrepresentation or fraudulent activity occurring on any transaction by providing all documents & supporting details to Credit Management immediately.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all loan products and origination requirements by keeping updated of all company policies and procedures as well as federal and state regulatory changes by reviewing all updates and participating in in-house training events.
  • Ensure adequacy and quality of the borrower and subject property collateral requirements by:
  • Documenting the sources of funds, and reserves in accordance with the guidelines.
  • Evaluate the security property by reviewing Collateral reports (Hybrid Valuations /Appraisals), Scope of Work, Project Feasibility reports, Environmental reports, Leases, and Property Insurance requirements.
  • Thoroughly Review the Preliminary Title report, and other closing requirements.
  • Approve all loans in accordance with the company published terms and conditions; provide a counter-offer, if the terms does do not comply with the company’s lending standards and/or guidelines; or if necessary prepare an adverse action/statement of denial.
  • Ensure accuracy of Pricing, Loan Terms, Application details, Loan Approval terms, & conditions, loan disclosures and other required documentation.
  • Review the borrower's entity documents to determine who are the members of the entity and who is authorized to sign the mortgage loan documents.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience
  • Min. of 3-5 years mortgage underwriting experience with comprehensive knowledge of lending regulations, plus experience at analyzing for acceptance credit, collateral, title, and insurance.
  • Experience underwriting DSCR Rental, and Fix/Flip/Bridge/New Construction business purpose loans preferred.
  • Proficient with mortgage lending software, and MS Office.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good multitasking abilities with outstanding time management skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Open to learning new technology systems and a paperless environment.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment; and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
  • Must take initiative and focus on achievement of position & company objectives.
  • May work remote or in local office
