Senior Financial Reporting Product Manager – Equity Programs

Remote (EST preferred)

  • Salary: $125, 000+ Negotiable
  • Travel: Up to 10% (Industry, Client & Team Events)


THE ROLE:

  • We are seeking a senior equity financial reporting product professional to support a large-scale client migration and product transformation initiative. This role partners across Product, Financial Reporting, Testing, Migration, Administration, Technology, and client-facing teams to define, validate, and improve financial reporting capabilities in an equity compensation platform environment. While also supporting a large-scale equity platform migration and transformation initiative involving financial reporting, equity administration, reporting outputs, client testing/training, data validation, reconciliation, product support, and platform readiness. Candidates may flex across workstreams depending on project needs, strengths, and client priorities


THE PURPOSE OF YOUR ROLE / THE VALUE YOU DELIVER:

  • The value of this role is to connect technical financial reporting requirements with real product behavior. The consultant will help ensure that financial reporting features, calculations, workflows, data flows, and outputs support client needs and regulatory requirements while remaining scalable, testable, and usable for internal and external stakeholders


KEYS TO SUCCESS:

  • Strong to expert understanding of equity financial reporting concepts, including ASC 718 stock-based compensation expense, deferred tax, diluted EPS, 10-K/10-Q disclosure support, and IFRS 2 / international reporting considerations
  • Ability to translate complex financial reporting requirements into product requirements, functional specifications, acceptance criteria, calculation logic, workflow design, and testing expectations
  • Strong product, platform, or system ownership experience, preferably in equity compensation, financial reporting, SaaS, B2B platforms, or financial services technology
  • Ability to work with engineering, product, financial reporting SMEs, client teams, and testing/migration teams to validate behavior, identify gaps, and resolve issues
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity, balancing roadmap priorities, client-specific needs, regulatory requirements, platform scalability, and delivery timelines


THE WORK YOU'LL DO:

  • Support financial reporting product strategy and roadmap execution for equity compensation reporting capabilities
  • Translate financial reporting needs into clear product requirements, PRDs, functional specifications, calculation logic, edge cases, and acceptance criteria
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, FR Client Testing & Training, FR Migration, Report Builder, Admin Reporting, Batch Processing, Professional Services, and client-facing stakeholders
  • Help define, validate, and improve reports and workflows tied to stock compensation expense, deferred tax, diluted EPS, disclosures, and related financial outputs
  • Participate in discovery sessions with Finance, Accounting, equity administration, product, and client stakeholders to understand reporting gaps and desired future-state workflows
  • Review product behavior and reporting outputs against regulatory requirements, client expectations, and implementation needs
  • Support demos, training, release communications, feature positioning, and internal enablement where needed
  • Identify risks, gaps, and dependencies before development begins and during testing / implementation cycles
  • Support prioritization of features, enhancements, defects, and client-driven reporting requests


THE EXPERTISE WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • At least 5+ years of equity compensation, financial reporting, product management, product ownership, or financial systems experience
  • Direct experience with ASC 718, IFRS 2, deferred tax, diluted EPS, disclosures, or equity financial reporting outputs
  • Experience working with technical teams, including requirements, testing, functional specifications, UAT, release readiness, or product delivery
  • Strong understanding of equity plan types, including stock options, RSUs, PSUs, ESPP, and related lifecycle events
  • Prior product development, SaaS, financial reporting platform, ERP integration, general ledger connectivity, or equity platform experience preferred
  • CPA, CEP, MBA, accounting credential, or product certification preferred but not required

ROLE-SPECIFIC SCREENING QUESTIONS:

  • Have you owned or directly supported product requirements for financial reporting, equity compensation, or accounting platform capabilities?
  • Have you translated ASC 718, IFRS 2, EPS, deferred tax, or disclosure requirements into product specifications, test cases, or system behavior?
  • Have you worked directly with engineering or technology teams to define, validate, or troubleshoot financial reporting features?
  • Can you describe a complex financial reporting product gap you helped identify and resolve
