Role Overview

We are seeking a strategic, growth-oriented leader to join our Partnerships Organization and help accelerate revenue growth while deepening engagement across a dynamic partner ecosystem.

This highly cross-functional role sits at the intersection of partnerships, commercial strategy, marketing, and sales enablement, offering the opportunity to shape and scale a growing area within a leading healthcare technology organization. You will work closely with Partner Success Managers, Sales, Customer Success, and executive stakeholders to identify new growth opportunities, expand partner impact, and drive measurable business outcomes.

With high visibility across the organization and direct influence on partner growth and revenue results, this role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, innovative environment and wants to build meaningful experience in strategic partnerships, commercial growth, and business development.

Team Summary

The Corporate Strategy team drives the strategy, growth, and operational alignment of athenahealth’s partner ecosystem. The team partners cross-functionally to strengthen partner relationships, unify related initiatives, and support the products and services that enable growth beyond athenahealth’s core ambulatory market. This group plays a key role in shaping priorities, connecting teams, and advancing strategic initiatives across the organization.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic growth plans across a portfolio of partners to drive revenue, engagement, and long-term partner success.
  • Identify and activate cross-sell, co-sell, and commercialization opportunities in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Partner Success teams.
  • Serve as a strategic growth advisor to partners, helping them maximize visibility, adoption, and business impact within the athenahealth ecosystem.
  • Lead partner go-to-market initiatives, campaigns, and promotional activities designed to accelerate partner growth and engagement.
  • Analyze partner performance metrics, revenue trends, and growth opportunities to deliver actionable recommendations and measurable outcomes.
  • Leverage AI tools and data sources to conduct market research, analyze partner performance trends, and surface growth opportunities that inform strategic recommendations and executive-level QBRs.
  • Support onboarding and commercialization efforts for new partners, helping drive successful launches and early-stage momentum.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to develop scalable best practices, growth playbooks, and operational processes across the partnership organization.
  • Identify high-potential strategic partners and recommend opportunities for expanded collaboration and increased market impact.

Expected Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • You may be a great fit if you have experience in: Partnerships, Business Development, Account Management, Customer Success, Sales or Sales Enablement, Strategic Consulting.
  • Relevant experience in the healthcare space, preferably in healthcare IT, with an understanding of the industry dynamics, customer needs, and market landscape.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners.
  • Executive presence with the ability to confidently engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Comfortable using CRM platforms, with Salesforce preferred, along with AI-enabled tools and performance metrics to analyze data, generate insights, and support growth strategies.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving and driving results.

Expected Compensation

$129,000 - $219,000

The base salary range shown reflects the full range for this role from minimum to maximum. At athenahealth, base pay depends on multiple factors, including job-related experience, relevant knowledge and skills, how your qualifications compare to others in similar roles, and geographical market rates. Base pay is only one part of our competitive Total Rewards package - depending on role eligibility, we offer both short and long-term incentives by way of an annual discretionary bonus plan, variable compensation plan, and equity plans.
