Brief Description

  • Client and Team Interactions:
    • Serve as a scientific expert to clients
    • Provide scientific expertise during pitches, meetings, and discussions with client and team
    • Oversee Projects: In collaboration with Client Services, monitor efficiency of projects and process
    • Create high quality content and execute exceptional research to support internal and external projects
    • Serve as Medical and Scientific Services lead for designated projects: create content and manage assigned tasks
    • Build relationship with clients through regular and consistent engagement on calls or in meetings
    • Be proactive and solutions-oriented
    • Reviews timeline for agreement
    • Ensure capacity is met as directed by manager and proactively reaches out to manager or team members to support when under capacity
    • Reason and Problem solve from multiple perspectives and help resolution of situations that arise between team members/cross account team
Requirements

  • Advanced terminal degree in biomedical sciences, medicine, pharmacy, nursing, or equivalent experience. A minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in an agency, the pharmaceutical industry, or a related scientific or medical writing position in oncology, hematology, or rare diseases. Proven ability to work independently. Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Proficiency with Veeva preferred.

Summary

  • A Senior Medical Writer (SMW) is responsible for content development, proactively communicating with clients, and driving the strategic direction of the product. S/he will have detailed knowledge of product, competitive landscape, key literature, and evolving science in the field specific to that product and will stay abreast on current literature, and the competitive landscape. The SMW will collaborate closely as a strategic partner with Project Management and Client Services to establish project plans, identify, and anticipate issues that could come up that may affect timelines while meeting agency standards. The SMW will be responsible for research and content support of business development goals and is expected to support the organic growth of the account(s) they are assigned. All MSS roles directly support clients through content generation and strategy.
