Our Company

We care about helping people. Our purpose is to provide help and inspire confidence in our clients and communities everywhere. Our associates feel a sense of belonging in an inclusive place with an amazing history and a sharp focus on our future. Our connected culture is who we are and how we work together to achieve our strategies, accelerate our transformation, and achieve extraordinary results. It’s an exciting time to be a part of H&R Block!

What you'll do...

Every year, millions of people come to H&R Block needing help with one of the most stressful and confusing tasks they face all year. For most customers, taxes aren’t about forms or rules. They’re about confidence, trust, and not making mistakes. Our DIY digital experience is where we win or lose that trust. This role is about building a market‑leading online customer experience that helps people feel supported, informed, and in control from start to finish. We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager who is energized by customer problems, comfortable with ambiguity, and excited to shape an experience used by millions. Deep tax expertise isn’t the expectation. What matters most is your ability to understand customers, learn a complex domain quickly, and design intuitive experiences in a challenging space.

As a Senior Product Manager on our DIY team, you’ll own meaningful parts of the end‑to‑end tax filing experience. Your focus will be on how customers move through the experience and how we help them feel confident every step of the way. You’ll turn strategy into action by leading through customer understanding and strong product judgment. You’ll work closely with partners who bring tax, legal, and platform expertise, while you focus on shaping the overall experience and outcomes.

Day to day, you'll...

  • Understand customer needs, behaviors, and frustrations throughout the DIY journey, especially where people get confused, hesitate, or lose confidence
  • Lead discovery in uncertain problem spaces through customer research, usability testing, data analysis, and experimentation
  • Define product direction and making clear prioritization decisions that improve the customer experience
  • Own the roadmap and backlog for your area of the DIY experience and keeping it aligned with broader experience and platform goals
  • Partner closely with design and engineering to create simple, intuitive flows that scale to millions of users
  • Use experiments and iteration to test ideas, reduce risk, and continuously improve the experience
  • Take accountability for customer outcomes, not just feature delivery

What you'll bring to the team...

  • Five or more years of product management experience delivering digital products with meaningful customer impact
  • Experience working on cross‑functional product teams using modern Agile practices
  • Demonstrated learning mindset with experience applying experimentation frameworks to inform product decisions
  • Comfort leveraging AI tools throughout the product development lifecycle, with a curiosity for emerging technologies and ability to apply them to improve outcomes
  • A track record of improving end‑to‑end user experiences, not just shipping individual features
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to lead productive conversations
  • Confidence in making decisions, learning quickly, and adjusting course based on feedback
  • Deep care about building great customer experiences and know how to spot friction others may miss
  • Comfortability starting with incomplete information and bringing structure to ambiguous problems
  • Ability to quickly learn new domains and not be intimidated by complexity or regulation
  • Strong product instincts grounded in research, data, and customer empathy
  • Ability to collaborate well with designers and engineers and value shared ownership
  • Ability to communicate clearly and can articulate why a decision improves customer experience

It would be even better if you also had...

  • Experience building or contributing to AI-powered product experiences, with an understanding of how AI can enhance customer value
  • Experience in fintech, financial services, or another regulated industry
  • Experience running experiments and using data to guide decisions
