Position Description
The Senior Project Executive - Wastewater is responsible for overseeing all construction operations for wastewater projects from pre‑construction through project closeout while also leading all business development efforts. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget, while also partnering with leadership to identify new opportunities, oversight of bidding efforts, and developing on-going client relationships to drive growth.
Job Responsibilities
Business Development
Lead the identification, pursuit, and acquisition of new wastewater construction opportunities.
Partner with leadership team on strategic business development initiatives.
Provide operational input for bids, proposals, estimates, and project pursuits.
Attend pre-bid meetings, client presentations, and industry networking events.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, developers, architects, subcontractors, and vendors.
Contribute market insight related to pricing, capacity, and operational feasibility.
Pre-Construction & Project Planning Business Development
Lead pre-construction activities, including estimating, value engineering, and constructability reviews.
Review and approve contracts, purchase orders, and project scope documentation.
Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements (federal, state, and local) during planning phases
Project Execution & Operational Oversight
Oversee all wastewater construction projects, including scheduling, budgeting, staffing, and execution.
Promote and enforce company safety and quality policies as well as jobsite best practices.
Coordinate resources across multiple projects to maximize efficiency and productivity.
Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and timelines.
Conduct jobsite visits, audits, and inspections.
Proactively identify and mitigate risks and resolve field issues.
Drive continuous improvement across construction and operational processes.
Support client retention by ensuring project excellence and high customer satisfaction
Financial & Performance Management
Manage project budgets, forecasts, cost controls, and overall profitability.
Review and approve change orders.
Analyze project financial performance and report to executive leadership.
Lead, mentor, and evaluate project managers, superintendents, and field staff.
Additional Responsibilities
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
A 4 year degree in engineering or construction management degree or equivalent and experience preferred.
10-12 years minimum experience supervising and being responsible for building wastewater and industrial buildings.
Must have computer skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Blue Beam).
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Self-directed entrepreneurial spirit with strong organizational skills, attention to details.
Strong analytical and organizational skills in regard to cost/pricing of material, labor and equipment.
Ability to work effectively and efficiently under stressful deadlines.
Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
Knowledge of building permits, safety site restrictions and other aspects of the paperwork required on a project.
