Position Title: Tax Manager - Hybrid
Location: New York, NY
Salary Range: $150,000 to $175,000 +Bonus
An independent, full-service accounting and advisory firm specializing in tax, accounting, and consulting services for businesses and individuals is seeking to hire an experienced Tax Manager to join their team. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of tax compliance, planning, and accounting within the organization. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with tax laws and regulations, and implementing strategies to minimize tax liabilities while maximizing financial efficiency. This is a ground floor opportunity to assist with the success of a growing entrepreneurial enterprise.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities for the Tax Manager will include preparing and reviewing a wide variety of tax returns, including high wealth individuals, fiduciary, corporate, partnership, and multistate filings.
Performing competency across all phases of tax services: planning, compliance, preparation, review, and research.
Applying strong technical knowledge of accounting and reporting standards when researching, completing, and reviewing complex tax matters.
Identifying tax risk management issues and proposing practical solutions through research and collaboration with engagement Partners.
Reviewing tax procedures and financial statements with minimal supervision.
Monitoring team members to ensure questions are addressed and work is completed accurately.
Managing and coordinating engagement workflow, including planning, execution, and wrap up.
Communicating client issues, deadlines, and engagement status to Partners to ensure timeliness and quality of service.
Supervising, training, and mentoring tax staff, fostering professional development and collaboration.
Serving as a primary client interface, building and maintaining strong client relationships.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA.
HNW and/or Real Estate background (Preferred).
5-7 plus years of experience in a CPA firm.
Able to work independently and within a team environment.
Outstanding communication written and verbal skills.
Experience using UltraTax CS, Checkpoint, Microsoft Office Suite and Intuit products (Preferred).
