Teacher of Physical Education and Fitness

Trinity School, a co-educational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks a full-time Physical Education and Fitness Teacher with multi-sport coaching experience beginning September 1, 2026.

As a Physical Education and Fitness Teacher, the faculty member will teach K-4 swimming, strength and conditioning classes as well as physical education in the Lower, Middle and Upper Schools. This faculty member will need to supervise female locker rooms.

• A dedication to improving the health and well-being of their students through developmentally appropriate instruction;
• A deep knowledge of fundamental movement skills and the ability to communicate this knowledge in a fun, positive, and motivating manner;
• Experience and confidence teaching swim to Lower School students;
• An ability to work collaboratively and generously with colleagues, both on teaching and coaching teams and across school divisions;
• Highly effective classroom management skills that maintain a safe learning environment;
• Intellectual curiosity and a commitment to ongoing professional development; and
• Excellent interpersonal skills, an adaptable attitude, and a sense of humor.
  
  

Qualifications For The Role Include

• A Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in physical education or other related field;
• Prior experience working with Lower School students in a physical education environment; and
• Prior experience coaching Middle and/or Upper school teams is a plus but not a requirement.

Salary range: $80,000 - $178,000 (salary based upon experience)
