NU Advisory Partners has been retained to lead the search for a Vice President, Data for a scaled, technology-enabled business undergoing significant data modernization and platform transformation. This leader will define and execute the company’s enterprise data strategy, with a strong focus on data engineering, platform architecture, system integrations, and data consolidation across a complex environment. The role requires a hands-on technical leader who can build scalable data infrastructure, improve data reliability and governance, and modernize how data flows across the organization to support long-term growth and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Data Strategy & Governance
Define and execute an enterprise-wide data strategy aligned with business priorities and operational growth
Establish data governance practices including ownership, definitions, quality standards, and access controls
Build a scalable foundation that improves consistency, visibility, and trust across enterprise data
Data Infrastructure & Analytics
Partner with technology teams to improve data architecture, integrations, and accessibility across systems
Evaluate and implement modern analytics and reporting capabilities that improve business visibility and decision-making
Strengthen reporting frameworks and operational analytics across multiple functions
Business Partnership & Operational Impact
Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Product, Operations, and Technology teams to deliver scalable data solutions
Translate business needs into actionable analytics initiatives with measurable impact
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reporting accuracy, and operational performance through better use of data
AI & Advanced Analytics
Support practical applications of advanced analytics and AI across the organization
Partner with stakeholders to evaluate and implement high-value use cases
Ensure data infrastructure can support evolving analytics and automation capabilities
Team Leadership & Capability Build
Build and scale a high-performing data and analytics function
Align existing resources and establish clear ownership, accountability, and operating cadence
Create a culture of practical problem-solving, collaboration, and data-driven decision-making
Qualifications & Experience
Significant experience in data engineering & analytics, or related leadership roles within technology-enabled or digital businesses
Proven experience building or scaling data capabilities in evolving or mid-sized organizations
Strong understanding of data architecture, pipelines, governance, and modern analytics environments
Experience implementing scalable data governance practices and improving data quality across organizations
Track record partnering cross-functionally with Finance, Product, Operations, and Technology teams
Ability to translate business requirements into scalable, high-impact data solutions
Familiarity with advanced analytics and AI-enabled use cases
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex data concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience operating in private capital-backed or similarly performance-driven environments is a plus
Hands-on, low-ego operator comfortable balancing strategic leadership with execution
