VP, Accounting Operations

**ONE DAY ONSITE

A leading global financial services firm is seeking a VP/Sr Director of Accounting Operations to join its finance leadership team. This role will oversee the strategic direction and day-to-day management of the company’s billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable functions while driving process improvements, automation, and operational scalability across the organization.

Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, this leader will play a critical role in modernizing accounting operations, strengthening internal controls, and supporting the continued growth of a dynamic public company environment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and execute a long-term strategy for accounting operations, focusing on scalability, process optimization, and technology adoption.
• Partner closely with senior finance leadership to align accounting operations with broader business goals.
• Support integration of accounting processes for new business initiatives and acquisitions.

Team Leadership

• Lead and develop a global team responsible for billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
• Establish clear performance objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational excellence.
• Foster a high-performance, collaborative team culture focused on continuous improvement.

Process & Systems

• Identify and implement automation and process improvements across the procure-to-pay and billing cycles.
• Support ongoing implementation and optimization of financial systems, including Oracle ERP.
• Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with SOX requirements across accounting operations.

Operational Oversight

• Oversee the end-to-end billing cycle, ensuring accurate invoicing, collections, and cash application.
• Manage accounts payable operations including vendor management, payment processing, and expense management.
• Monitor performance metrics and drive efficiency across accounting operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 10+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including leadership responsibility
• Proven experience managing billing, accounts receivable, and/or accounts payable teams
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and SOX compliance
• Experience in a public company environment
• Demonstrated success implementing process improvements and financial systems
• Experience with Oracle ERP strongly preferred
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
