The Vice President, Product & Services Development will lead the company’s next phase of product innovation, services expansion, and market-driven growth. Reporting to the CEO, this role owns product and services strategy, including a multi-year roadmap aligned with market demand and long-term value creation. The VP ensures product decisions are grounded in customer insight, commercial opportunity, and scalability.
Historically engineering-driven, the company now seeks a market-oriented product leader combining customer insight, strategy, and technical fluency. The VP will lead a small engineering team and partner with operations, manufacturing, and commercial leadership to develop new products, expand services, and improve product architecture and usability.
This role is central to growth strategy, identifying new markets, expanding the platform, and driving enterprise value. The VP will operate as an enterprise leader, contributing to company-wide strategy and alignment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define and lead long-term product and services strategy aligned with market needs, competitive positioning, and value creation
- Develop a multi-year roadmap based on customer insight, market research, and ROI-driven investment decisions
- Conduct voice-of-customer and market analysis to identify unmet needs and new opportunities
- Expand offerings through scalable, service-based and recurring revenue models
- Simplify product architecture through SKU rationalization and modular design
- Partner with operations and manufacturing to improve design, reduce cost, and support scalability
- Ensure strong field usability, including installation efficiency and real-world deployment
- Lead and prioritize a small engineering team aligned with product strategy
- Collaborate with sales to support direct and channel go-to-market models
- Support expansion into adjacent markets (airports, data centers, healthcare, etc.)
- Operate with a private equity value-creation mindset tied to growth and margin expansion
- Lead market evaluation including segmentation, TAM, and competitive analysis
- Develop business cases including build, buy, or partner decisions
- Own full product lifecycle from concept through launch
- Drive cross-functional alignment across product, commercial, financial, and operational teams
- Implement structured product management processes and tools

- Establish a clear, market-driven roadmap aligned with growth strategy and TAM analysis
- Identify high-value opportunities, including at least one transformational initiative
- Develop business cases and strategic plans for new opportunities
- Achieve cross-functional alignment on product strategy
- Implement voice-of-customer and market research processes
- Advance new product initiatives toward commercialization
- Strengthen collaboration across product, engineering, and commercial teams
- Deliver measurable impact on revenue, margins, and enterprise value
QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements
- Senior product leadership experience (Director/VP) in B2B industrial manufacturing
- Proven ownership of product strategy tied to revenue or margin outcomes
- Experience with modular or engineered physical product systems
- Background in direct, channel, or specification-driven sales models
- Strong collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and operations
- Track record of linking product decisions to ROI and growth
- Experience in mid-market companies ($40M–$250M revenue)
- Ability to balance strategy with hands-on execution

- Experience in construction, building products, or related industries preferred
- Private equity experience highly desirable
