This position will lead product vision, portfolio strategy, operating model, and measurable product outcomes across the organization to empower our primary clients, State Farm and HiRoad Assurance Company. This role requires deep insurance and product leadership experience to shape innovative, customer-centered, and AI-native solutions that align with company goals, client needs, market opportunities, regulatory considerations, and measurable business outcomes. This role serves as a bridge-builder across Product, Technology, Data, Innovation, Operations, and business functions, influencing strategy, clarifying decision rights, strengthening cross-functional execution, and helping the organization translate vision into measurable outcomes.

Essential Functions
  1. Lead the vision, strategy, roadmap, and performance of the product portfolio, ensuring alignment with customer needs, market opportunities, regulatory requirements, and business objectives, and measurable product outcomes.
  2. Partner with executive and cross-functional leaders (in Quanata and State Farm) to translate company priorities into focused product initiatives, investment decisions, portfolio tradeoffs, and measurable outcomes for clients and the business.
  3. Oversee product lifecycle management, including customer discovery, prioritization, roadmap planning, development support, launch readiness, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement.
  4. Establish and continuously improve the product operating model, including product governance, intake, discovery, prioritization, roadmap planning, decision rights, launch practices, operating rhythms, and portfolio performance measurement that improve decision-making, accountability, visibility, and execution across teams.
  5. Use customer insights, direct client feedback, market intelligence, competitive analysis, regulatory awareness, and business performance data to identify opportunities for growth, innovation, differentiation, and portfolio focus.
  6. Collaborate closely with Technology, Data, Operations, Actuarial, Underwriting, and other business leaders to ensure product strategy is effectively delivered and operationalized while balancing customer value, technical feasibility, delivery capacity, platform health, and business impact.
  7. Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing product organization, fostering a culture of customer focus, strategic thinking, healthy debate, disciplined prioritization, innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  8. Communicate product strategy, priorities, tradeoffs, risks, and performance clearly to senior leadership and key stakeholders to drive alignment, influence decisions, and accelerate client and business impact.
  9. Define and track product success measures, such as customer value, adoption, client satisfaction, revenue or retention impact, operational efficiency, execution quality, and portfolio health.
  10. Make clear portfolio tradeoffs, including when to invest, pause, simplify, or sunset products or initiatives based on customer value, business impact, risk, and strategic fit.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Insurance, or a related field or equivalent relevant experience; and;
  • 12 - 15 years of progressive experience in product management, product strategy, insurance product, or related functions, including senior leadership responsibility and ownership of product strategy, portfolio direction, and measurable outcomes.
  • Demonstrated insurance experience, including knowledge of insurance products, customer needs, market dynamics, and regulatory considerations and the operational realities of bringing insurance solutions to market preferably in P&C, insurtech, or data-enabled insurance products.
  • Proven product leadership experience, including ownership of product vision, strategy, portfolio management, prioritization, roadmap discipline, product operating rhythms, and cross-functional execution.
  • Strong technology and innovation experience, with the ability to partner effectively with technology teams, understand technical tradeoffs, and apply modern capabilities to product development,differentiation, scalability, and long-term platform health.
  • Demonstrated business strategy and influence experience, with the ability to connect product decisions to enterprise goals, make clear tradeoffs, influence senior leaders, and drive alignment across stakeholders.
  • Proven bridge-builder experience, with a track record of fostering collaboration, building trust, creating clarity, encouraging healthy debate, and aligning cross-functional teams around shared outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills, with the ability to operate effectively in complex, fast-paced, and matrixed environments while creating focus, clarity, and accountability.
  • Strong people leadership skills, including the ability to coach and develop product talent, create clarity without micromanaging, give direct and constructive feedback, and build a healthy, accountable team culture.
  • A passion for re-inventing an industry via customer-focused AI-native solutions for the industry leader. 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in insurtech, fintech, or another highly analytical, regulated, and technology-enabled environment with an emphasis on direct-to-consumer digital experiences.
  • Experience leading product organizations through growth, transformation, or modernization, or product operating model evolution.

  • Advanced degree or relevant certification in business, product, technology, strategy, or insurance.
  • Experience with leading AI-native features and transformation.

Salary: $$550,000 - $650,000.*

*Please note that the final salary offered will be determined based on the selected candidate's skills, and experience, as well as the internal salary structure at Quanata. Our aim is to offer a competitive and equitable compensation package that reflects the candidate's expertise and contributions to our organization.

  • Work from Home Equipment: Given our virtual environment— in order to set you up for success at home, a one-time payment of $2K will be provided to cover the purchase of in-home office equipment and furniture at your discretion. Also, our teams work with MacBook Pros, which we will deliver to you fully provisioned prior to your first day.
  • Paid Time Off: All employees accrue four weeks of PTO in their first year of employment.  New parents receive twelve weeks of fully paid parental leave which may be taken within one year after the birth and/or adoption of a child. The twelve weeks is applicable to both birthing and non-birthing parent.

  • Location: We are a remote-first company for most positions so you may work from anywhere you like in the U.S, excluding U.S. territories. For most positions, occasional travel may be requested or encouraged but is not required. Some positions might require travel per the job description provided to the employee. Employees based in the San Francisco Bay Area or in Providence, Rhode Island may commute to one of our local offices as desired.  
  • Hours: We maintain core meeting hours from 9AM - 2PM Pacific time for collaborating with team members across all time zones.
