Nothing like real world data, and as you see PluumoPlus is now on the ground in the US. Best of all, these results are continuing to impress and surprise even those with decades of experience in the industry. Very exciting times!
In the US, shifting multi-day shipments from air to ground can cut costs by up to a third. The catch? Your packaging has to survive what ground transport actually looks like. Recently, a PluumoPlus thermal shipper was put through its paces on a live trial run via the road courier network from South Carolina to Ohio and back. The inside of the van hit nearly 56°C and as the trace shows, that wasn't a momentary spike! Despite the challenges, the PluumoPlus shipper held the payload between 2 and 8°C for 72 hours straight. (For those that are interested, the payload remained between 2 and 15°C for over 96 hours!) Sustainable thermal packaging has historically meant compromising at the extremes, which is exactly why high-value pharma and life science shipments stay locked into air freight and EPS. Time and again, PluumoPlus demonstrates that these compromises are now a thing of the past. Immediately companies can save a third on costs by viably switching from air freight to a multi-day ground freight option while still avoiding single-use plastics in their supply chains. Best of all, this PluumoPlus shipper was manufactured locally in the US, ahead of our full launch there later at the end of the year. Our next task is to achieve over 96hrs under ISTA 7E Summer conditions for the 2-8°C temperature profile, which is more than achievable given the best-in-class thermal performance of our material. So, if you're shipping across the US and want to know more about saving costs by switching to nature’s best insulator, drop us a message. #sustainablepackaging #coldchain #healthcarelogistics
