In this trade, it’s not just about what you stock. It’s about what actually moves. This week we’re pleased to recognise SA Wholesale and Jonathan Mahoney, a partner that understands how to get the right products into the right outlets and make them work. Operating out of Essex, they’ve built a strong delivered wholesale model, supplying a wide range of customers across retail and on-trade. But what stands out isn’t just distribution. It’s understanding. Understanding the outlets they serve. Understanding the customers behind them. And understanding how different products perform in different environments. That’s what allows them to successfully support a portfolio that spans: • Fitch & Leedes – premium mixers, crafted for the serve • Bashews – flavour-led soft drinks with strong lifestyle appeal • Score Immune – tapping into the growing demand for functional beverages Different occasions. Different consumers. One route to market that makes sense. That’s not accidental. That’s a partner who knows how to build a range that works in the real world. As I highlighted in our recent discussions, the real value isn’t just getting product listed. It’s ensuring it flows. We’re proud to be working alongside SA Wholesale as we continue to build momentum across multiple channels and across the United Kingdom. 🔹 Quiet progress. 🔹 The right partners. 🔹 Execution where it matters. #SAWholesale #SugroWholesale

Foodservice is under more pressure than ever. Rising costs, tighter margins, and higher expectations. What we’re seeing more of: → Demand for consistent, no-risk products → Greater focus on cost per serving → Less tolerance for supply issues Wholesalers need suppliers who understand this, not just sell into it. Reliability isn’t a “nice to have”, it’s essential. #FoodIndustry #Wholesale #HospitalityUK #SupplyChain

About last night…at the 2nd Meet the Buyer event of 2026 here at Carden Park with the Caterfood Buying Group. In a change up of the usual evenings programme at Meet the Buyer, I was requested to present an overview of the various multichannel marketing and advertising options available for Suppliers working with the CFBG. While am happy to speak and present informally in meetings and briefings, these formal settings are sometimes more challenging. Afterwards, I received feedback from various Delegates and Suppliers that the outlining and explaination of the difference between our Group and Local advertising opportunities was helpful in navigating the best options to take in our unusual group structure. This insight and their responses then made the experience and effort absolutely worth it! While I prefer to be the Creative pulling levers and adding influence behind the scenes; public speaking is becoming an expectation - and a skill that I will continue to develop in the upcoming year. #CFBGlife #underdog #adaptivebydesign #madeincalifornia
Caterfood Buying Group Meet the Buyer Event 🤝 Last night, our very own Sarah Coleman presented the CFBG wholesale shipments data platform, which we launched in partnership last year, giving suppliers access to group and member performance insights. We are looking forward to day two, meeting even more members and suppliers and chatting through the benefits of the platform. Live Lobster Prices Drop in US Wholesale Market as Canadian Supply Surges US wholesale prices for live lobster have fallen sharply due to a glut of supply from Atlantic Canada, as seasonal fishing ramps up and floods the market. The surge in landings has created short-term oversupply, driving down prices for live product. In contrast, processed lobster items such as tails and meat have remained stable. Steady demand and different supply channels have helped insulate these products from the volatility affecting the live market. The result is a split market, with weakening prices for live lobster while processed products continue to hold firm.
