CEPI (Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations)’s Post

🚨 CEPI has launched an urgent Call for Proposals seeking to accelerate early‑stage vaccine candidates against Bundibugyo virus (BDBV), following the 2026 public health emergency declared by the Africa CDC and WHO. With cases rising across the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda — and no licensed vaccine available — there is a critical need to fast‑track promising candidates that could support current outbreak response efforts, and also help to strengthen the future pipeline against this deadly virus. CEPI will award funding to advance scientifically robust, operationally feasible BDBV vaccine candidates that can move rapidly toward Phase 1 evaluation.  CEPI is specially seeking candidates with strong preclinical signals, rapid development timelines, and potential for scalable, equitable access. Developers, especially those in Africa or partnering with African institutions, are encouraged to apply via the CEPI Portal. Read the full Call text to learn more, including eligibility criteria and how to apply: https://lnkd.in/euh_e332 📅 Deadline to apply: 12 June 2026. Please consider sharing among your networks.

Feel free to reach out to discuss and push forward the production of a peptide pool for the immune monitoring We would be happy to support the effort

What about diagnostics? There are discrete solutions for this problem, and is arguably as important.

We will apply in response to this call. I am looking to join forces with, or recruit expertise in egg-based manufacturing. Please contact me immediately as we are already on day 10.

CEPI is a syndicate that only funds their own. Nothing demotivates scientists from the South than a funder who only thinks we should be funded to test innovations from the north. African Union needs to set up its own southern CEPI

Great initiative! Would it be beneficial to extend the call to complete the development of monoclonal antibodies preclinically validated against Bundibugyo?

You are doing excellent work!
