The 🌧️ NOAA Flood Data in Action: Retailers Using Flood Data for Risk Management🌧️ webinar brought together #NOAA scientists, 7Analytics, StormGeo, and Hannaford Supermarkets to explore how #Flood data can support informed planning and #WeatherResilience. 🎥 Watch the recording: bit.ly/NOAA-Retail A few key takeaways: 🌧️ Better flood data helps organizations understand risk before disruptions occur. 🗺️ Environmental information is most valuable when it's integrated into the workflows people use every day. 🤝 Collaboration between scientists, technology partners, and industry helps turn environmental data into practical solutions that protect businesses, support local economies, and help communities recover more quickly after flood events. Communities depend on roads, infrastructure, supply chains, and insurance policies to safeguard them during flooding and other weather hazards. That's why CSS team members are proud to support NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration's Industry Partnerships program, helping connect trusted #EnvironmentalData with leaders who use it to make real-world decisions. ▶️Learn more🔗bit.ly/NCEIindustry Shoutout to the team members of the Industry Partnerships program! Who funds solar radiation modification research—and where that funding goes—matters. Thanks to SRM360 for the opportunity to comment on its latest funding report. The organization’s new analysis shows funding doubled in the last year, and half of the commercial funding was concentrated in a single company. While 97% of total funds went to recipients in the Global North. Just $7.8 million reached 22 countries in the Global South. Research into SRM is necessary, but how it is funded and governed will shape its legitimacy. It should be transparent, publicly accountable, and supported by public investment. A technology with potential global consequences cannot be shaped by a small number of companies, countries, or individuals. We need clear communication, open access to findings, and meaningful participation from the people whose futures could be affected. Natasha Vidangos Zachary Decker #SolarGeoengineering #ClimateScience #ClimateJustice #ResearchTransparency #GlobalGovernance #SRM #SAI
What do experts make of the latest update to our SRM Funding Tracker? Several raised the same flags – the rise of private capital in a field still short on public accountability, and a stark funding gap between the Global North and South. But they read the implications differently, finding grounds for both optimism and concern about where the field goes from here. Find excerpts from Mark Symes of Advanced Research + Invention Agency (ARIA), Catriona McKinnon of the University of Exeter, Shaun Fitzgerald of the Centre for Climate Repair, Daniele Visioni of Cornell University, and Lisa Dilling of the Environmental Defense Fund in the carousel below, and read their full responses here: https://lnkd.in/g28j8NRN #SolarGeoengineering #ClimateChange #ClimateInterventions

It is encouraging to see more funding into solar radiation modification, but it would be great if more governments were supporting it. It is also important that a wide range of voices are involved in the research. Those who are most affected by the effects of climate change and who have contributed least to emissions are massively important in terms of guiding research efforts. Centre for Climate Repair

Won't make it to New York Climate Week this year – as it's head's down on the CRREM team the next two weeks! We're getting ready to share our Technical Council's working CRREM Energy Pathway methodology concept, outlining direction and progress – planned for release October 6. This will open a public consultation, seeking to collect technical and market feedback while there remains scope to incorporate new evidence and refine the approach where data warrants it. This work reflects nine months of rigorous analysis, debate, and evidence-based development, grounded in climate and building science – designed to support transition risk assessment and long-term capital planning across global portfolios. We hope you'll take the time to read the paper when it lands and look forward to the conversations ahead. 👉 What to expect for the upcoming concept paper and public consultation? https://lnkd.in/etmad5rs #CRREM #Energy #TransitionRisk #Pathways #Buildings

Data anyone? Yes please! The data set out in The State of the Environment Report is instrumental for how we protect and improve our natural environment. Recently the expertise of Aestra was applied with the peer review. If you’re in the environment field or interested in how Australia is actually tracking in protecting and restoring our environment I recommend taking a look.
Aestra recently supported the Australian Government's State of the Environment Report 2026 #SoE26 through the provision of independent peer review services. SoE26 brings together 38 detailed environmental assessments across terrestrial, freshwater, coastal and marine environments, providing an important evidence base for understanding how Australia’s environment is changing and what this means for the future. For this project our team of scientists contributed expertise across all four interconnected environmental themes and independently reviewed 15 of the 38 assessments. Through independent and constructive peer reviews, we help to strengthen the evidence, interpretation and consistency of the assessments that contribute to Australia’s next State of the Environment Report. We’re proud to use our expertise working at the intersection of #science and #policy to support robust environmental reporting and underpin evidence-based decision-making. Micropollutants and PFAS are a challenge every European water basin shares, not just the UK's. Great to see British Water bringing policy, science and industry together on this ahead of their Cambridge conference. 💧 #WaterQuality #WaterInnovation
❓💡 When faced with a challenge as complex as micropollutants, where should we start? Perhaps with a simple question: what can I do? This latest preview explores personal and collective responsibility, the difference between hazard and risk, and why open conversations are essential to balancing innovation with environmental impact. These are complex issues without simple answers, and progress will depend on bringing different perspectives together. Ahead of the British Water Micropollutants Conference 2026, Anna Kummelstedt, Policy & Regulation Lead, British Water, spoke to keynote speaker Robert Bradburne, Chief Scientist at the Environment Agency, about some of the key issues he’ll be exploring at the conference. Bringing stakeholders together in Cambridge, the conference will explore how we can move beyond individual interventions and towards more systematic solutions that can deliver meaningful impact. 💧Join us in Cambridge this September for Micropollutants in Focus: Policy, Evidence and Practice Across the Water Cycle and be part of the conversation.
