EU Health and Food Safety’s Post

🎗️It’s #CervicalCancerAwarenessWeek and a good moment to remember that prevention saves lives.   Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable cancers, yet it remains a significant public health challenge across Europe. The good news? We already have powerful tools to stop it: HPV vaccination and organised cancer screening.   💉 HPV vaccination works. Vaccination against the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is safe, effective, and life-saving. Through the #EUCancerPlan the EU is stepping up action against vaccine-preventable cancers -increasing HPV and Hepatitis B vaccination uptake, reducing disease burden, and protecting future generations.   🔍 Screening saves lives too. HPV vaccination alone isn’t enough. That’s why organised cervical cancer screening remains essential. Regular screening can detect the first signs of cancer — when treatment is most effective — making it a cornerstone of prevention.   An #EU4Health-funded project, EUCervScreen QA (running until August 2026), is helping EU countries strengthen the equity and effectiveness of cervical cancer screening programmes across Europe. 👉 Find out more about the project here: https://lnkd.in/ekKet49a   💬 Let’s do our part: Share knowledge. Encourage vaccination. Support equal access to cancer screening. 👉 Find out more about HPV vaccination here: https://lnkd.in/eKcmxiKW
