Harald Walkate’s Post

It gives me great pleasure to be invited to join Stichting DSI as External Advisor – Sustainable Finance. Over the past few years I’ve gotten to know DSI (Dutch Securities Institute), the self‑regulatory foundation that promotes integrity, professionalism, and competence in the Dutch financial sector. DSI plays a major role in certifying financial professionals and maintaining high standards for ethical conduct.   I’ve also had a couple of opportunities to work together with DSI on the topic of sustainable finance:   ✅ I participated in discussions that led to DSI’s paper on Greenwashing: https://lnkd.in/ewEj68Mj. ✅ I moderated a discussion based on the findings of this paper at DSI’s annual event in 2024. ✅ I supported DSI and the can do company in developing the “Between the Lines - Integrity Pitfalls in Sustainable Finance” discussion document that provides insights and practical examples on integrity in sustainable finance. The discussion document is attached to this post and can also be found here: https://lnkd.in/ezenDShq ✅ I wrote a column entitled “What does the sustainable investor buy: a better world? Or a good night’s sleep?” based on this discussion document. The column can be found here: https://lnkd.in/ewEj68Mj ✅ I participated in a seminar organized by DSI together with The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (The CISI) in the UK, to discuss the insights from the “Between the Lines” discussion document. The recording of the seminar can be found here: https://lnkd.in/e3PDVJMX   This collaboration has demonstrated that there is great alignment between our views on sustainable finance, and that there is a genuine desire with DSI to promote a high-integrity approach to sustainable finance in the Dutch financial sector.   As the External Advisor - Sustainable Finance I'll continue to help CSI explore some of the themes mentioned above – greenwashing, understanding and managing consumer expectations, effective communication – but we’ll also likely explore some new ones: applying the tools of deliberative democracy to consumer dialogue; details and implications of evolving EU regulations; climate risks and transition narratives; the intentionality and additionality of impact; and bridging the gap between academics & practitioners.   DSI sets a high bar for promoting a high degree of integrity in sustainable finance and I hope you’ll follow our work on these important themes here. #sustainablefinance Floris Mreijen Mark van der Lecq Roeland Jongejan Daniëlle Melis Evelien Buijs Khatuna (Kat) Eletskikh George Littlejohn

Congratulations - you’ll add a lot to them

Great to continue our collaboration Harald! 🤝
