Cybersecurity is a top priority for every tech leader right now 📈🔒 But are organisations doing enough to retain the people protecting them? 📉 In an article featured on ComputerWeekly.com, Ankur Anand, CIO, explores a growing cyber resourcing risk many businesses are overlooking. Drawing on insights from our Global Tech Talent & Salary Report, the picture is concerning: 🔐 Cyber professionals are among the least likely to receive pay rises 📉 Many report lower job satisfaction than other tech roles 🚪 Nearly half are considering leaving their roles in the next 12 months At the same time, cyber skills remain one of the most in-demand globally, creating a dangerous imbalance. As Ankur highlights, organisations risk building “cyber risk debt” when they underinvest in talent, reward, and long-term capability. So what needs to change? It’s not just about pay. It’s about career pathways, better tooling, and embedding cyber as a strategic function, not a support role. If businesses don’t act, the cost won’t just be talent loss. It will be resilience. 👉 Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/ga26eUkm 👉 Download the Global Tech Talent & Salary Report to explore the data behind the trend: https://lnkd.in/gsnhztdJ #CyberSecurity #CyberTalent #TechTalent #DigitalLeadership #TechLeadership #TalentStrategy #TalentandSalaryReport #HarveyNash

For Tech Leaders the next major challenge is not just protecting internal systems — it is also extending heavily towards helping customers use AI safely and responsibly. As AI tools gain access to emails, files, customer data, finances, and business systems, understanding privacy, permissions, data exposure, and risk management is becoming an essential life and workplace skill — not just an IT issue. The future of cyber security will increasingly include securing how humans interact with AI and in turn how AI interacts with your systems.

Cyber is in demand… so why aren’t salaries keeping up? A recent report shows cybersecurity is one of the most in-demand skills globally - yet 77% of UK cyber professionals didn’t receive a pay rise last year. That’s more than any other tech discipline. At the same time: 🔸Nearly half are considering a move 🔸Fewer expect salary growth compared to AI, DevOps or Engineering 🔸Workloads and expectations continue to rise There’s a clear disconnect here. Organisations are relying on cyber teams more than ever, but not always rewarding or retaining them in line with that responsibility, and in a market where demand is only increasing, that becomes a real risk. Feels like a bit of a turning point. Are companies doing enough to retain cyber talent? We've launched the Harvey Nash Tech Talent & Salary Report to the media today, with coverage already across more than ten UK tech and HR titles. Our lead finding was that after high profile attacks on some of the UK’s leading companies, 77% of cyber security professionals missed out on pay rises last year. This UK trend was also mirrored across the world – but with slightly fewer (71%) global cyber security professionals missing out on a pay rise. The report says that these findings perhaps beg the question: how hard are organisations working to keep their cyber talent? If you're interested in learning more, Ankur Anand, group CIO at technology and talent solutions provider Nash Squared, which owns tech recruiter Harvey Nash, has written this viewpoint for ComputerWeekly.com... https://lnkd.in/eX2VmVks

If you’ve been on the fence about applying to the Government of Canada’s digital talent pool, 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆’𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲. Over the past few weeks, I’ve spoken to dozens of applicants, breaking down the process, helping them see where they might fit, and hearing what people are curious or uncertain about along the way. It’s been eye-opening. What this means for candidates is a single application that can surface their profile across multiple departments, with targeted sharing to hiring managers looking for their specific skill set, and opportunities tied to systems used by millions of Canadians. Applications close tonight. https://lnkd.in/d9wJDW28
🔍𝗖𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱: 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝟲𝟬+ 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗮 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀. If you’ve ever applied for a Government of Canada job and felt like your application disappeared into a black hole, you’re not imagining it. That experience is real, and especially in cyber security, it can be a real barrier for strong talent. I’ve been working on changing that directly through how these hiring processes are designed. These cyber security processes were built to feel different: more human, more transparent, and easier to navigate. I’ve designed these so you don't have to play guessing games with a long, complicated posting. It should be obvious where your skills fit. Every application is reviewed by a real person (hi it's me👋🏽). Not a filter, automated sort or AI. And once you’re assessed, you’re not applying to a single job, you’re entering a pool that 60+ departments and agencies actively use when they need cyber talent. One application can lead to multiple opportunities across government. 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗶𝘁? • 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗜𝗧-𝟬𝟯): Designing, building, and implementing security solutions • 𝗖𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 (𝗜𝗧-𝟬𝟮 / 𝗜𝗧-𝟬𝟯): SOC environments, monitoring, incident response, threat detection • 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 & 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗜𝗧-𝟬𝟮): Risk management, controls, compliance, system assessments • 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆-𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗜𝗧 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 (𝗜𝗧-𝟬𝟭): Hands-on technical support, troubleshooting, foundational cyber experience If any of these sound like you, I’d love to see your application. Not sure which one is the best match? Shoot me a message. I’d much rather chat and help you find the right fit than have you talk yourself out of applying. And if you know a great cyber pro who’s looking for their next move, please tag them or pass this along. You can find the links to apply in the comments below 👇🏽

India's cybersecurity talent crisis just got measured. The numbers are stark. The DSCI-SANS Indian Cyber Security Skilling Report 2025–26 dropped this week: → 73% of enterprises cannot find qualified cybersecurity talent → 63% say job applicants lack hands‑on practical skills → 84% of companies take one to six months to fill a single security role → 58% struggle to find professionals with cross‑domain expertise → 83% identify AI and generative AI security skills as critical (Source: Data Security Council of India × SANS Institute, May 2026) At the same time, Seqrite's India Cyber Threat Report 2026 recorded 265.52 million detections across 8 million endpoints. Trojans accounted for nearly 43% of detections — most designed to steal credentials. Indian IT firms are now the highest‑value targets on dark web marketplaces. The attackers are automated. The threats are continuous. The defenders are still being rejected for lacking proof. This gap — 73% shortage on one side, 265 million threats on the other — is not a "skills gap." It is a proof gap. Most people read about the talent crisis. A few build the proof that makes them the talent companies are desperate to hire. 👇 Comment "PROOF" — I'll send you the first task that starts building recruiter‑visible output tonight. 📡 Daily threat intel and proof drops: https://lnkd.in/gsq-9gEi 👉 Structured 45‑day hands‑on SOC training: https://lnkd.in/dzVxVfMG

Cybersecurity is not the future anymore — it is the present, and the next 5 years will define everything. By 2030, the global cybersecurity market is projected to grow from $227.59 billion to $351.92 billion, with a 9.1% CAGR. That is not just industry growth — that is global urgency. Why? Because every business is becoming a tech business. Banks, hospitals, governments, startups, e-commerce, even small local businesses — everyone is now dependent on digital infrastructure. And wherever there is data, there is risk. The numbers are impossible to ignore: • Over 514,000 cybersecurity jobs are currently open in the U.S. alone • The global workforce gap is nearly 4.8 million professionals • Information Security roles are projected among the fastest-growing careers of this decade At the same time, AI is changing both sides of the battlefield. Attackers are becoming faster. Defenders must become smarter. Cybersecurity is no longer just about firewalls and antivirus. It is now about cloud security, AI security, threat intelligence, digital trust, and business resilience. The companies that invest in cybersecurity today will lead tomorrow. The professionals who learn cybersecurity today will build tomorrow. This industry is not rising. It is exploding. And the question is no longer “Should I learn cybersecurity?” It is “Can I afford not to?” #CyberSecurity #InfoSec #CyberSecurityCareer #EthicalHacking #DigitalTransformation #CloudSecurity #AISecurity #Technology #CareerGrowth #CyberAwareness #Leadership #FutureOfWork
