Last week, Shopify NY was thrown back to the 90s to celebrate Cat Goetze and her brand Physical Phones. ☎️ Cat is one of those rare storytellers who doesn’t just share ideas, she pulls people into them. With that mind, it was no surprise the space was buzzing all weekend, from our “phone-free” preview night on Friday through to public day on Saturday. In particular, I saw so much genuine connection on the phone-free night that it makes me question if I should spend more time off my phone in my day to day. There’s an army of talents to thank on this one: 📞Cat and Maggie Ziolkowski for being great partners, working through it shoulder to shoulder with our team from start to finish. 📞 Ben Smith and Sarah Teich for making this a Smooth(TM) one, suggested small touches that raised the bar (like fake paparazzi and last-minute lamps). Wild to compare this to our first partnered event four years ago at the Shopify NY space. 📞 And the very talented Shopify who made it happen: Jayne Sora Ohm, Brianna Ceaser, Valentino Sanchez, Rachel Tiscione, Hannah Zisman, Eduardo Lipe, Carla Poirier and many more. 📞 Our NY community of friends and partners who showed up to make the weekend so special.
