I recently attended the "AI Ethics in Medicine and Law Symposium", hosted by the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in collaboration with the Joseph F. Rice School of Law. The symposium featured insightful discussions on how artificial intelligence is transforming medicine and law, focusing on ethical, legal, and professional considerations. The interdisciplinary perspectives from clinicians, researchers, legal experts, and students emphasized the need for responsible and transparent AI development and deployment in healthcare and beyond. Events like this highlight the importance of cross-disciplinary collaboration in tackling the ethical challenges posed by emerging technologies. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn and engage in these vital conversations. #AIEthics #ArtificialIntelligence #Medicine #Law #HealthInformatics #EthicsInAI #InterdisciplinaryResearch #ProfessionalDevelopment

It was a privilege to speak at the faculty of Law at Bar Ilan University about how AI can transform informed consent from a legal burdensome procedure into supportive caring communication. We know that both physicians and patients are often alienated by ICFs and AI can make a change, enhancing both care and autonomy. Thanks Shay Hay and Omer Yehezkel Pelled for organising this event, and to Michal Alberstein for highlighting the intersection between AI, law and medicine. There were fascinating lectures about privacy from Michael Birnhack and Ella Corren. Nadav Davidovitch shared thoughts about the future of hospitals and Uri Goren shared patients' perspective. The future is here.

Thanks to the University of New England for supporting us in completing such a large research project. The result of this research has been published in the Arizona Journal of International and Comparative Law. The paper explores Australia's current approach to AI ethics and trust regulation, highlighting its reliance on voluntary standards and the challenges this presents. It proposes a meta-regulation model that combines legal oversight with self-regulation, aiming to foster both innovation and ethical responsibility in AI development. We invite you to read our findings and share your thoughts!

Artificial Intelligence in Legal Practice: Bridging the Research Gap in the Global South New Publication Alert — Interdisciplinary Journal of Arts, Politics and Law (IJAPL) While AI-driven legal innovation is rapidly advancing in the Global North, empirical and context-specific research from the Global South remains limited. My new paper, “Artificial Intelligence in Legal Practice: Bridging the Research Gap in the Global South,” examines structural, institutional, and methodological gaps that have shaped the uneven development of AI scholarship and adoption in legal practice. The paper highlights the importance of inclusive research agendas, South-centered perspectives, and locally grounded evidence in shaping the future of legal technology. A contribution to advancing equitable knowledge production and responsible AI integration in global legal practice. #SpringfieldJournals #WeAreSRU #SovereignEducation #AIinLaw #GlobalSouth #LegalInnovation #LawAndTechnology

AI, data, and intellectual property are no longer peripheral to legal discourse; they are central to shaping the future of law in a technology-driven society. I had the opportunity to present my research paper titled “AI, Data and Intellectual Property: New Legal Frontiers” at the Two-Day International Seminar on “Data Protection in the AI Era: Bridging the Gap Between Law, Policy, and Technology”, organized by Law Mantra in collaboration with CIIPR RGNUL ( Rajiv Gandhi National University of law , Punjab ) . The seminar served as an important platform for academic engagement, bringing together scholars, researchers, and practitioners to deliberate on contemporary challenges arising from rapid technological advancements. The discussions and exchanges during the event contributed meaningfully to a deeper understanding of how legal frameworks must evolve to remain responsive, balanced, and forward-looking. I am grateful for the recognition and the opportunity to engage in such enriching academic dialogue. This experience has further reinforced my commitment to research at the intersection of law, technology, and innovation, and to contributing thoughtfully to this evolving area of legal scholarship. #AI #DataProtection #IntellectualProperty #TechnologyLaw #LegalResearch #AcademicExcellence
