Hello, I am Samantha and. Other sections of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, our section handle individual complaints submitted to UN human rights treaty bodies, particularly committees related to women's, children's, person with disabilities rights and political, civil, economic, social and cultural rights as well as torture. The petition sections working languages are Spanish, English, French and Russian. We assist in processing these petitions are helping team analyze information in depth to suggest how each case full move forward. Sometimes we work on urgent measures to prevent irreparable harm, for instance, static deportation or eviction. Once I cases registered, our team draft decisions for the committees working groups, which are later discussed and adopted during the committee sessions held here at Palais Wilson. Afterwards, our section monitors host states implement these decisions called VIEW. And showings that victims receive justice and that similar violations are prevented in the future. This internship has deepened our knowledge of the UN mechanisms work in practice and reaffirmed our dedication to work in this field.
