CTTravel Programme: UNOCT and Hungarian experts

📣Today, the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism #UNOCT and the Government of #Hungary jointly hosted an event in Budapest to celebrate the 5️⃣th anniversary of the #CTTravel Programme, a "one-UN" initiative working to detect and counter terrorist travel ℹ️The forum gathered more than 100 representatives from #CTTravel beneficiary nations, implementing entities and funding partners for a discussion of the programme's achievements and ways to strengthen #CounterTerrorism partnerships at the national, regional, and global levels. ✈ Since its launch by United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres in 2019, #CTTravel has supported more than 75 Member States in building national detection capabilities using passenger #data, Advance Passenger Information #API and Passenger Name Record #PNR data and other travel information to detect the movement of #terrorists and counter transnational organized crime, in line with United Nations Security Council resolutions 2178 (2014), 2396 (2017), and 2482 (2019), international standards and #HumanRights principles. 🤝These achievements have been possible thanks to support from #Australia, #EuropeanUnion, #Germany, #Hungary, #India, #Japan, Republic of #Korea, #Netherlands, #Qatar & #USA   📰 Press Release bit.ly/OCT-MEDIA 🔗Learn More about the Programme www.un.org/cttravel #CTTravel #UNiteToCounterTerrorism International Civil Aviation Organization INTERPOL UNODC IOM - UN Migration
