Breaking the Silence: Time to Talk Day Mental health conversations are essential, yet many people avoid discussing their mental health to prevent awkward moments. The impact of this silence is significant - people push away friends and family, struggle at work or school, and feel increasingly isolated. We're proud to support mental health professionals and healthcare organizations in delivering high-quality continuing education. We see firsthand the critical work being done in the mental health field. Time to Talk Day reminds us that conversations about mental wellbeing shouldn't be confined to clinical settings. They need to happen in our workplaces, our homes, and our communities. Brave the big talk this #TimeToTalkDay. Opening up about our mental health can be the first step towards getting help. If you or someone you care about needs support, visit: https://lnkd.in/g9fbtjbY How workplaces can participate: Host a lunch and learn session Encourage coffee catch-ups with colleagues Share mental health resources Lead by example - normalize these conversations For continuing education professionals and healthcare organizations: this is an opportunity to extend the conversation beyond CEUs and into everyday workplace culture. #TimeToTalk #MentalHealthAtWork #ContinuingEducation #ProfessionalDevelopment #HealthcareProfessionals #MentalHealthAwareness #CEGo

Black History Month: Honoring Pioneers Who Transformed Mental Health Care This February, we recognize the extraordinary contributions of Black mental health pioneers whose work continues to shape our understanding of psychology, equity, and culturally competent care. 🏥 DR. M. JOYCELYN ELDERS - First Black U.S. Surgeon General As the first African American and second woman to serve as U.S. Surgeon General, Dr. Elders championed universal health coverage and comprehensive health education, with particular focus on minority health issues. 🎓 DR. JENNIFER EBERHARDT - MacArthur "Genius Grant" Fellow A Stanford psychology professor whose research on implicit bias, race, and criminal justice has been instrumental in developing evidence-based training for law enforcement officers nationwide. 🧠 DR. HOPE LANDRINE - Health Psychology Pioneer Her 1992 publication "The Politics of Madness" provided some of the first scientific data showing how societal stereotypes affect psychiatric diagnoses, helping expose existing inequities in mental health care. 💼 DR. FREDA C. LEWIS-HALL - Healthcare Leadership As former Chief Medical Officer at Pfizer and appointee to multiple national health boards, Dr. Lewis-Hall has shaped healthcare policy and pharmaceutical development with a focus on patient-centered care. THE ONGOING IMPACT: These pioneers didn't just break barriers they fundamentally changed how we understand mental health across diverse communities. Their work reminds us that: ✓ Cultural context matters in psychological assessment ✓ Healthcare equity requires systemic change ✓ Representation in the field leads to better outcomes for all ✓ Research must challenge harmful stereotypes, not reinforce them Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gfJXftwj #BlackHistoryMonth #MentalHealth #HealthcareEquity #Psychology #DiversityAndInclusion #HealthcareLeadership #PublicHealth #SocialImpact

Celebrating International Day of Acceptance: Moving Beyond Awareness On January 20th, we observe International Day of Acceptance, founded by the late Annie Hopkins, creator of the International Symbol of Acceptance. This day promotes social acceptance, inclusion, and equal opportunity for people with disabilities. At CE-Go, we recognize that true acceptance goes beyond awareness. It means valuing individuals for who they are and supporting them in living full, authentic lives. We're inspired by perspectives from Easterseals PORT Health's EMPOWER programs: "International Acceptance Day is important because it reminds people to accept others just as they are. It's all about how you treat others." (Alex) Our differences add strength, value, and beauty to our communities. This International Day of Acceptance, let's commit to embracing those differences. Today marks World Day for the Fight Against Depression, and we want to take a moment to acknowledge something important: mental health matters in every part of our lives, including our work and professional communities. Depression affects over 280 million people globally. It impacts employees, entrepreneurs, leaders, and colleagues across every industry. Yet stigma often prevents people from seeking the support they need or speaking openly about their struggles. As a platform, we believe in fostering a community where people feel valued, heard, and supported. Mental health isn't separate from our professional lives; it's fundamental to our wellbeing, productivity, and ability to show up as our full selves. If you're struggling right now, please know: • What you're feeling is valid • Reaching out for help is a sign of courage • You're not alone in this experience • For organizations and leaders, today is a reminder to: • Create psychologically safe workplaces • Normalize conversations about mental health • Provide access to mental health resources • Lead with empathy and understanding Breaking the stigma starts with honest conversations. By sharing our experiences and supporting one another, we create environments where people can thrive. If you or someone you know needs support, please reach out to a mental health professional or crisis helpline in your area. Let's continue building a world where mental health is treated with the same importance as physical health.
