🎉 Celebrating EUI Alumni Excellence 🎉 We are proud to congratulate European University Institute alumna Nerea Gándara [@Nerea G.] on receiving the Juan Linz Award 🏆 for her outstanding doctoral research. Her award-winning thesis powerfully highlights the crucial role of feminist movements in shaping pro-egalitarian attitudes and behaviours — a contribution that is both academically rigorous and socially vital. 💬 “At a time when feminism is often facing backlash, I am especially proud that this work is receiving the Juan Linz Award, as the fight for achieving gender equality is far from over,” Nerea notes. 📚 Nerea completed her PhD at the European University Institute Department of Social and Political Science, under the supervision of Professor Elias Dinas. This recognition is a wonderful example of the impact EUI Alumni continue to have in advancing knowledge, equality, and public debate. The strength of the European University Institute lies in the enduring engagement of its EUI Alumni. On 9 December, EUI alumni volunteers came together on campus during the Christmas and Solidarity event 2025 at the European University Institute. Their commitment, ideas, and — above all — institutional memory are invaluable as we prepare for a landmark moment in the Institute’s history: the 50th Anniversary of the European University Institute. 📢 The EUI Strategy 2026–2031 is public — and EUI Alumni are at its heart! 🎓✨ We are excited to share the European University Institute’s new Strategic Framework, built around three core dimensions: Excellence, Engagement, and Communication. The second pillar, Engagement, recognises the vital role our EUI Alumni play in shaping the Institute’s impact and future direction. 🤝 Why EUI Alumni engagement matters in the new strategy: • Alumni are seen as key partners in strengthening institutional memory, social reach, and global networks. • The strategy includes actions to expand EUI Alumni networks, build mentorship opportunities, and foster research collaboration and policy outreach. • EUI Alumni expertise will be actively engaged in governance and strategic consultations, as well as in teaching, executive education, and public scholarship. • Celebrating EUI Alumni achievements and integrating their insights into research and impact agendas is a priority.
