💶➡️🌍 T2 and T2S: multi-currency platforms for payments and securities settlement T2 and TARGET2-Securities (T2S) were designed to support multiple currencies. Today, they offer settlement in: ✅ Euro ✅ Danish krone in T2S since 2018 and in T2 since 2025 Looking ahead, the following national central banks have expressed an interest in joining the platforms: ✅ Sveriges riksbank to join T2 and T2S ✅ Norges Bank to join T2 ✅ Central Bank of Iceland (Seðlabanki Íslands) to join T2 The inclusion of additional currencies in T2 and T2S strengthens the multi-currency dimension of the TARGET Services and supports deeper financial integration, harmonisation and efficiency across Europe.

📅 November 2026 TARGET Services releases confirmed with deployment shifted to 28 November 2026 The Eurosystem has confirmed that the planned November 2026 releases for its TARGET Services (T2, T2S, TIPS and ECMS) will proceed, with deployment shifted from 14 November to 28 November 2026. The decision follows SWIFT's announcement to delay its Standards Release 2026 and reflects close coordination with European market participants. 💶➡️🌍 TIPS: a multi-currency instant payments platform The TARGET Instant Payment Settlement (TIPS) service was designed as a multi-currency platform. What started with the settlement of instant payments in euro has evolved into a truly multi-currency service. Today, TIPS supports: ✅ Euro ✅ Swedish krona (SEK) ✅ Danish krone (DKK) In the coming years, TIPS is also expected to support: ✅ Norwegian krone (NOK) ✅ Icelandic króna (ISK) Since October 2025, TIPS has also offered a cross-currency service between the euro, Swedish krona and Danish krone, further expanding the possibilities for instant payments across currencies. This is another important step towards a more integrated European payments landscape, enabling faster, more efficient and innovative payment services for citizens and businesses across the euro area and beyond. 🗣️ From vision to delivery: building Europe’s tokenised financial market 📍 Deutsche Bundesbank’s Symposium on “Future of payments: trends and innovations in Germany and Europe” ECB Executive Board member Piero Cipollone outlined how the vision of building an integrated and dynamic European ecosystem for digital assets, with central bank money at its core, is turning into reality. "In 2024, we said that tokenised markets needed access to central bank money. This year, we intend to deliver on what we said by going live with Pontes. To support its early adoption, we will offer attractive pricing conditions, charging only one-off onboarding fees for the initial launch." The Eurosystem supports the economy by providing short-term loans to banks based on adequate collateral. 🗎 ECB publishes documents for the initial launch of Pontes As part of preparations for the initial launch of Pontes in September 2026, the ECB has published the Pontes Pricing Guide and the list of DLT operators currently registered to participate. The Pontes Pricing Guide describes the fee schedule for the Pontes initial launch phase and outlines the design of the envisaged pricing scheme for Pontes enhanced product (scheduled for 2028). The registered DLT operators are: 🆕 Clearstream (DE) 🆕 SWIAT (DE) 🆕 Cashlink (DE) 🆕 Axiology (LT)  The list of DLT operators will continue to be updated as new operators complete the registration process. 🤝 Eurosystem selects members for the Appia contact group The Eurosystem has selected 61 financial market stakeholders and public sector institutions to join the Appia contact group. The selection was made following a call for expressions of interest. The Appia contact group will support the Eurosystem’s overall work programme on tokenisation, which encompasses both Pontes and Appia. T2S brings Europe together by offering one harmonised way to settle securities across borders. It makes settlement faster, safer and at the same time more efficient, helping investors across Europe. Today, 23 European countries and 24 central securities depositories are connected to T2S — creating a truly integrated market for securities settlement.
