  • 81% of Gen Z wish they could disconnect more easily. 40% say they wish social media had never been invented. That's a meaningful shift in how an entire generation relates to the technology they grew up on. At Cairns Crocodiles 2026, Pinterest VP of Creative Xanthe Wells shared a clear provocation for brands: the next era won’t belong to the platforms and campaigns that keep people attached to their screens or trapped in the loop. It will belong to the brands that help people get back to their lives. That’s what she calls designing the exit. At Pinterest, we've seen what happens when you build for that moment. Gen Z became our largest and fastest-growing demographic, brand love grew in ways pure engagement metrics can't capture, and when people describe their relationship with our platform, they don’t say they’re addicted to it — they say they love it. As Bill Ready puts it: "We delivered a strong start to 2026, with Q1 revenue surpassing $1 billion, up 18% year over year, and global monthly active users growing to 631 million, our tenth consecutive quarter of double-digit user growth. Pinterest is where online discovery leads to real-world action, and we're seeing continued momentum driven by our differentiated visual search product experiences.
