⚪ Introducing our brand. Have you ever wondered what is behind our logo? Our logo reflects the heart of our mission. 🟡 Yellow represents hope for better outcomes for cancer survivors. 🔵 Blue captures our intellectual commitment. 🔴 Pink symbolises compassion. Together, these shapes form a symbol inspired by the daffodil and lotus—emblems of hope, new beginnings, and resilience. They also echo the iconic sails of the Sydney Opera House, reflecting our connection to our city and our openness to the world. With five petals representing five key strategies, our new identity embodies our commitment to leadership, excellence, and social responsibility. Looking forward to the impact ahead as we continue supporting survivors and advancing cancer research. #CancerSurvivorship Cancer Council NSW UNSW Medicine & Health Bogda Koczwara

An interesting commentary, addressing the health care system as a whole, but highly relevant to cancer survivorship. As cancer survivorship is not a disease, how well equipped is our health system to support health after cancer diagnosis? To improve outcomes for cancer survivors we need to invest in prevention and primary and community care (all very important) but also consider how we make decisions about health care and how we measure outcomes that matter. We need to invest in routine measurement of patient reported outcomes and place survivors at the core of designing systems that support their needs. 🌟 Introducing the Australian Research Centre for Cancer Survivorship (ARCCS) Today, over 1.6 million Australians are alive after cancer diagnosis, and this number will rise to 1.9 million by 2040. Survival, however, is only the beginning. We are delighted to introduce a newly established Australian Research Centre for Cancer Survivorship (ARCCS) - a partnership between Cancer Council NSW and UNSW Sydney dedicated to ensuring that every cancer survivor can live not just longer, but better. Our vision is clear: health and prosperity of all cancer survivors through innovative, impactful, and collaborative research. Through ARCCS, we will: 🔹 Co‑design and implement evidence‑based interventions to improve quality of life for survivors. 🔹 Deliver evidence to guide practices, services and policies across NSW and beyond. 🔹 Partner with clinicians, researchers, survivors and communities to develop real‑world solutions. 🔹 Break down barriers to survivorship care, especially in regional and rural areas. This is a once‑in‑a‑generation opportunity - made possible through a $40 million joint investment - to reshape survivorship for millions now and into the future. #CancerSurvivorship #ARCCS #CancerResearch #UNSW #CancerCouncilNSW #CancerSupport #MedicalResearch UNSW Medicine & Health Cancer Council NSW Bogda Koczwara
