Researchers from USF CBCS are advancing AI-driven public safety innovation. Dr. YongJei Lee, Dr. SooHyun O from University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee and Dr. Seungbae Kim from USF Bellini College of Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Computing recently shared results from a Sarasota Police Department pilot using AI crime forecasting tools, which was associated with a nearly 20% reduction in crime during the test period. From Sarasota-Manatee to Washington, D.C.! 💚 🤘 Angie Sciarrone, a University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee MSW student in the University of South Florida - School of Social Work, recently participated in a national summit on addiction and homelessness hosted by the Office of National Drug Control Policy. As an outreach case manager in Manatee County, Angie works on the front lines helping individuals navigate homelessness, addiction and other complex challenges. The insights shared during the summit will help shape a national toolkit designed to support communities facing similar issues across the country.
