-Serial communication : (like RS232, RS485, and Modbus RTU) is your basic hand tool—simple, effective, and reliable for close-range, one-on-one tasks. It’s been around for decades and still gets the job done in controlled settings. -Ethernet-based communication: (such as Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, and OPC UA) is like using power tools—fast, versatile, and perfect for handling multiple, complex operations simultaneously across a broader workspace. Wireless communication : (Wi-Fi, Zigbee, LoRaWAN) is the cordless drill or wireless tester—ideal when flexibility, mobility, or hard-to-reach locations are a factor. No wires, but you need to manage signal strength and interference. -Fieldbus communication : (PROFIBUS, DeviceNet) is your precision instrument—engineered for consistent, repeatable performance in tightly controlled environments. It’s best for critical applications that need strict timing and synchronization.

Networking is no longer just an IT skill. It is a core competency for anyone building modern digital systems. I recently revisited the key pillars of CCNA, and it's a great reminder of how foundational networking knowledge connects everything : • Networking Fundamentals – OSI, TCP/IP, network types, bandwidth, latency. • Network Access – Ethernet, switching, VLANs, trunking, STP, wireless. • IP Connectivity – IPv4/IPv6, subnetting, routing concepts, gateways. • IP Services – DNS, DHCP, NAT, NTP, SNMP • Security Fundamentals – ACLs, firewall basics, VPNs, common attacks. • Automation & Programmability – APIs, REST, JSON. What stands out is how these concepts are no longer siloed. Security, cloud, DevOps, and automation all sit on top of solid networking principles. Whether you're an engineer, developer, system administrator, or security professional, understanding how networks operate gives you a serious advantage: ✔ Better troubleshooting ✔ Smarter architecture decisions ✔ Stronger security awareness ✔ Improved system performance Technology stacks evolve quickly, but fundamentals compound over time. #Networking #CCNA #Learning #Technology #ITInfrastructure #CareerGrowth

Want to get into DevOps but worried about networking fundamentals? (these core concepts are a great place to start) How many times have you wanted to learn networking concepts but felt lost in the details? Truth: We're not network engineers. We need networking for cloud and application connectivity -- that's the focus here. And understanding networking will make troubleshooting, And designing architectures a whole lot easier. Here's the guide I've put together! Core Topics You Need: • Basic Networking Concepts (IP, DNS, Protocols) • Network Infrastructure and Topologies • Cloud Networking (VPC, Subnets, Route Tables) • Network Automation (IaC for networking) • Service Discovery and Distributed Systems • Container Networking (Docker/K8s) • Monitoring, Logging and Tracing • Network Security & Firewalls • Performance and Optimization • Software Defined Networking (SDN) This is the practical networking you'll use everyday or at least need to know. Real-world applications to be familiar with: ↳ Setting up multi-tier applications ↳ Troubleshooting connectivity issues ↳ Implementing zero-trust security ↳ Automating network configurations Don't let networking basics hold you back. You got this! 🔔 Follow Vishakha Sadhwani for more Cloud & DevOps content ♻️ Share so more people can learn.

🏠 Networking Essentials Explained with a House Analogy🏠 🔗 Networking Basics - Think of your house’s blueprint and structure. The OSI and TCP/IP models are like the foundation, walls, and wiring helping data move efficiently. Devices like routers, switches, hubs, and access points are like the doors, hallways, and windows that allow communication between rooms. 🌍 Key Protocols – These are like the delivery system of your neighborhood. TCP, UDP, and IP are like roads that connect houses, while HTTP, FTP, DNS, and DHCP are the delivery trucks making sure packages (data) get to the right home. 🔀 Routing & Switching – Think of routing protocols like traffic signals that guide cars to their correct destinations (OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP). VLANs are like different floors in a house, separating traffic for better efficiency. 🛠 Network Design – Just like houses have different architectural styles, networks have different layouts (star, mesh, hybrid). LAN, WAN, MAN, and WLAN are like different neighborhoods from a small cul-de-sac to a massive city infrastructure. 🔒 Network Security – Imagine your house with locks, alarms, and security cameras. Firewalls, VPNs, and ACLs protect your home’s entry points. IPS/IDS are like security guards keeping intruders out. 📡 Wireless Networking – Wi-Fi is like a wireless intercom system in a house. Wi-Fi standards (802.11ax, WPA3) ensure smooth communication, while good coverage ensures that every room gets a strong signal. ☁️ Cloud Networking – Multi-cloud and hybrid cloud setups (AWS, Azure, GCP) are like having vacation homes in different locations. Virtualization ensures resources are shared efficiently across these homes. 🤖 Network Automation – Automation tools like Python, Ansible, and PowerShell are like smart home devices that automatically adjust lights, temperature, and security, saving effort and time. 📊 Monitoring & Troubleshooting – Tools like Wireshark, SolarWinds, and SNMP are like your home maintenance system keeping an eye on power usage, water leaks, and overall health. 🖥 Virtualization & Containers – SDN, NFV, and container networking are like modular furniture spaces that can be reconfigured easily for different purposes. 💡 Networking is just like building a smart, secure, and efficient home. Make sure every part is well-planned, secure, and connected! #Networking #TechSimplified #ITInfrastructure #CloudComputing #CyberSecurity #SmartHomeNetworking
