73% of cybersecurity jobs I fill never get posted. Here's how to access the hidden market Most people think job hunting works like this 1. Search Indeed/LinkedIn 2. Apply to postings 3. Wait for callback That's the VISIBLE market. But the best roles? They're filled before you ever see them. How the hidden market actually works WEEK 1: Company needs a Security Engineer WEEK 2: CISO asks their team "know anyone good?" WEEK 3: Someone refers a former colleague WEEK 4: Candidate interviews and gets offer WEEK 5: Job gets posted (for compliance/HR) WEEK 6: 200 people apply to an already-filled role You were competing for a job that was decided 4 weeks ago. THE 4 WAYS TO ACCESS HIDDEN JOBS METHOD 1: The Warm Intro Cold: Apply through job portal Warm: "Hey [connection], I saw [Company] is building a SOC. Know who's leading that?" Then ask for an intro. Hiring managers would rather interview a referral than screen 300 strangers. METHOD 2: The LinkedIn Signal When you see a company announce → New funding → New CISO hire → Major client win → Compliance certification They're about to hire security people. Comment on the post. DM the CISO. Ask about their security roadmap. METHOD 3: The Recruiter Relationship Don't just apply when you need a job. Build relationships with 3-5 recruiters NOW → Update them quarterly → Share when you learn new skills → Ask about market trends When the perfect role appears, they call YOU first. METHOD 4: The Problem Solver Approach Most effective but requires research 1. Identify 10 companies you want to work for 2. Follow their security team on LinkedIn 3. When they post about a challenge, engage thoughtfully 4. Eventually: "I've been thinking about [their problem]. Mind if I send you my thoughts?" You're building relationships, not sending applications. YOUR 30-DAY ACTION PLAN Week 1: → Identify 10 target companies → Follow their security leaders Week 2: → Engage on 3-5 posts per week → Add value, don't pitch yourself Week 3: → Connect with 3 recruiters in your space → Have actual conversations (not just "are you hiring?") Week 4: → Ask your network: "Who's hiring security people right now?" → Request warm intros THE TRUTH The visible job market is overcrowded. The hidden market is where the best opportunities are. Stop applying harder. Start networking smarter. Have you ever gotten a job that was never posted? How did it happen? #Cybersecurity #JobSearch #CareerAdvice #Networking #HiddenJobMarket #InfoSec #CyberJobs

Everyone's asking how to become a CRA. But they're looking in the wrong places. After 15+ years in clinical research and helped 25+ CRA land their first roles without a single cold application, here's the truth: 70% of CRA positions never make it to job boards. They're filled before HR posts them. By people who were already in the conversation. THE HIDDEN JOB MARKET EXPOSED: Where roles actually get filled: • Internal transitions (30%) • Employee referrals (25%) • Direct recruiter outreach (15%) • Posted positions (30%) Do the math. You're competing for 30% of opportunities. While ignoring 70%. HERE'S HOW WE FOUND CRA ROLES: Role #1: Site coordinator mentioned her CRA was leaving. Asked for an intro. Got the job. Role #2: Commented on a director's LinkedIn post. 3 months later: "We have an opening..." Role #3: Helped a struggling CRA with a protocol. Her manager called me 6 months later, we are looking for CRAs Zero applications. Three offers. THE HIDDEN PATHWAYS NOBODY TALKS ABOUT: 1. THE SITE TRANSITION Your CRA visits monthly? That's your interview happening in real-time. Help them. Learn from them. Impress them. 2. THE VENDOR SHUFFLE CROs lose contracts. Win contracts. Teams move together. Be part of someone's trusted circle. 3. THE LINKEDIN LURKER Hiring managers scroll LinkedIn before posting jobs. Be visible before positions exist. 4. THE REFERRAL NETWORK That CRA you helped last year? She remembers when her company expands. THE STRATEGY THAT WORKS: Stop searching job boards. Start building relationships. ✓ Connect with 5 CRAs weekly ✓ Engage with CRO leadership content ✓ Share your CRC wins publicly ✓ Offer help before asking for it (This is GOLD) Because here's the truth: By the time a CRA role hits Indeed and LinkedIn? The hiring manager already has 3 internal candidates. You're not competing. You're decorating. REAL EXAMPLES FROM MY NETWORK: Sarah: Helped a CRA during a difficult monitoring visit. Result: CRA role at that sponsor 8 months later. Marcus: Posted about protocol deviations on LinkedIn. Result: Director reached out with opportunity. Jennifer: Volunteered for CRA shadow visits. Result: Same CRO hired her within 90 days. None of them "applied." All of them positioned. YOUR ACTION PLAN: This week: • Message 3 CRAs in your network • Comment on 5 CRO leadership posts • Share 1 win from your CRC role Next month: • Coffee with 2 CRAs • LinkedIn post about your expertise • Engage with target company content In 3 months: Watch opportunities find you. The hidden job market isn't hidden. You're just looking in the wrong places. What's your hidden job market story? Drop it below. P.S. That recruiter who messaged you randomly? They found you because you were visible. Not because you applied. Visibility > Applications. #ClinicalResearchCareers #HiddenJobMarket #CRAJobs #NetworkingWorks

WORD OF WARNING JOB SEEKERS! A dear friend of mine was recently contacted by someone presenting as a recruiter about a role with a well-known software company. He provided very specific details — the role, company, salary, and benefits. He even boasted that the candidates he puts forward “always get interviews” because he prescreens their references and submits both the resume and the references to the client. Trusting the process, she provided several references. Soon after, all of those contacts received calls — not about her candidacy, but with sales pitches for the recruiter’s services. Here’s what she uncovered: there was no job. When she called the company directly, they confirmed they weren’t hiring for that role and had never heard of his recruiting firm. She documented everything with screenshots and reported him to LinkedIn. Red flags to watch for: • Requests for multiple references before you’ve had any interview or confirmation of candidacy. • A recruiter who emphasizes “prescreening” or “special access” to gain your trust. The job market is challenging enough without tactics like this. Sharing this as a reminder to all candidates: protect your network, and trust your instincts.

Sending 200 applications isn't the red flag. Needing 200 applications is. After helping 50,000+ candidates get placed, I've noticed something interesting: The candidates getting interview calls aren't necessarily applying more. They're usually finding opportunities earlier. A role posted today can become saturated within days, yet hiring lists continue circulating for weeks because almost nobody verifies them before sharing. That's why I tell my students to stop chasing lists and start building a simple job-search intelligence system. Here's the exact framework I recommend: 👉🏻 Use "Past 24 Hours" and "Past Week" filters religiously. A role posted yesterday with 30 applicants is often worth far more than a role posted three weeks ago with 500 applicants. 👉🏻 Use AI to identify who's actually hiring. Instead of manually searching company after company, ask ChatGPT, Claude or Perplexity: "Which Indian GCCs, product companies, and startups have announced hiring, expansion, new offices, funding rounds, or capability centre growth in the last 90 days?" This instantly gives you a shortlist of companies showing real hiring momentum. 👉🏻 Follow recruiters, not just company pages. Most candidates follow company pages. Very few follow Talent Acquisition Managers, Recruiters, Campus Hiring Leads, and Engineering Managers. Those are often the people announcing openings before they become crowded. 👉🏻 Watch who is joining the company. Open LinkedIn's People tab and look at recent joins. If dozens of professionals have joined a team over the last few months, chances are hiring is still active. Most candidates never check this. The best candidates do. 👉🏻 Stop manually checking every job description. Use tools like Teal or Jobscan to compare your resume against job requirements and identify missing keywords before applying. 👉🏻 Track off-campus drives beyond traditional job boards. Many hiring drives are announced through Superset, Unstop, HirePro, HackerEarth, and company career portals long before they gain visibility on major job sites. Candidates who rely only on Naukri and LinkedIn often see opportunities after everyone else. 👉🏻 Create a Monday hiring routine. Every Monday morning: ✓ Check your target company career pages ✓ Review recruiter posts ✓ Ask AI tools to surface new hiring announcements ✓ Apply only to roles posted recently This takes less than 30 minutes and is often more effective than spending hours scrolling job portals every day. What's one company you're actively tracking right now? Tell me below 👇 #jobsearchindia #careergrowth #jobsearchtips #hiringnow #interviewtips

Job Seekers: Please Be Careful — Scam “Recruiters” Are Getting Smarter I want to share something important to help protect others in this tough job market. Over the past week, I’ve been contacted by multiple “recruiters” on LinkedIn who turned out to be fake. What kills me to most is their goal is simple: prey on people who are stressed, hopeful, and looking for work. And they’re getting more sophisticated. Here’s what happened: The recruiter "named" Darren Hammes (see image) reached out with a too-good-to-be-true opportunity. When I asked for a corporate email, he finally provided one: contact@globalhirehub.info — a domain that doesn’t belong to any real company and doesn’t match the employer he claimed to represent. His LinkedIn profile listed his employer as “Confidential,” had vague job history, and he used high-pressure tactics to push me off-platform. Today, another fake account tried the same pattern under the name of Ferris Steven MBA. I know to look at any recruiters profile to pass the snif test but not sure if others do. It is not ok for them to take advantage of people so I have to help educate you so you can spend your energy on the legit recruiters and make valuable connections. 🚩 Red Flags to Watch For - Recruiter refuses to provide a corporate email - Email domain doesn’t match the company - Employer listed as “Confidential” - No real work history, dates, or details - Low activity or generic motivational posts - Pushy or urgent tone - Wants to move the conversation off LinkedIn quickly Legitimate recruiters DON'T behave this way. 🛡️ How to Protect Yourself - Verify the email domain - Check the recruiter’s LinkedIn history and activity by clicking on their name and reviewing, then click on contact info. This will show the real details (see image) - Look for real company affiliation - NEVER share personal information early in the process - Trust your instincts — if something feels off, it probably is 📣 If you encounter one of these accounts, here’s the note I use when reporting them: “This individual is impersonating a recruiter. He contacted me using a non-corporate email domain, refused to provide verifiable company information, and used high-pressure tactics consistent with known job-seeker scams. I am reporting this to protect others as well from potential fraud". LinkedIn appears to take the false accounts pretty seriously so everyone reporting will help us help each other. Most importantly.... If you are job searching right now, PLEASE stay vigilant. You deserve real opportunities, not predaotry behavior. And if you ever need a second set of eyes on a recruiter or message, please reach out - we are stronger when we look out for each other. YOU are worth more than you might be feeling right now. These imposters will get what is due to them eventually. Let's stay strong together!!!!

Here’s a truth I learned the hard way - not every job makes it to LinkedIn. When I started my job search in the U.S., I was doing what everyone else does - opening LinkedIn, hitting “Easy Apply,” and hoping something would finally click. But over time, I noticed something strange - I’d hear about companies hiring, yet the roles were nowhere on LinkedIn or Indeed. That’s when I learned one of the most important lessons of my job search: Most real opportunities live quietly on company career pages - inside systems like Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, or Oracle Cloud. And by the time they hit LinkedIn, they’ve already collected hundreds of applications - or sometimes, closed completely. How I started finding “hidden” jobs : I came across something called Boolean Search - it’s a way to tell Google exactly where and what to look for. Once I started using it, I was finding fresh openings every single morning - ones that weren’t even visible on job boards yet. Here’s how 👇 Example searches: site:greenhouse.io OR site:lever.co OR site:myworkdayjobs.com "Data Analyst" "New York" or site:ashbyhq.com OR site:bamboohr.com OR site:oraclecloud.com OR site:icims.com OR site:workable.com "Data Analyst" "Chicago" If you’re exploring multiple titles: site:greenhouse.io OR site:lever.co ("Data Analyst" OR "Business Analyst" OR "Reporting Analyst") "Texas" ✅ Try these platforms in your searches: greenhouse.io, lever.co, ashbyhq.com, bamboohr.com, oraclecloud.com, icims.com, workable.com, adp.com You’ll be surprised how many jobs are hiding there before they ever reach LinkedIn. I used to think job searching was just about applying more - but it’s really about searching smarter. Once I began running 3–4 Boolean searches daily, I started finding early postings that aligned better with my skills And the best part? Less competition. Those small wins slowly built my confidence back. And that’s what most people miss - your turning point isn’t always a “big break,” sometimes it’s just one smart habit done consistently. If you’re tired of waiting for new job alerts or feeling like you’re always late to apply - remember, the right opportunity might already exist. It’s just hidden where you haven’t looked yet. Stay curious, stay patient, and keep trying different strategies. Because all it takes is one right door to open - and all your effort starts to make sense. If you found this helpful, feel free to ♻️ repost it with others who might benefit. Ever wonder what company job postings reveal beyond "𝐰𝐞'𝐫𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠"? They're actually intelligence goldmines sitting in plain sight. Job postings are one of OSINT's most underutilized resources. When you analyze what companies are hiring for, you're essentially reading their strategic roadmap. A cybersecurity firm suddenly posting for AWS specialists? They're likely migrating to cloud infrastructure. A competitor hiring prompt engineers? AI integration is coming. Multiple DevOps roles? They're scaling fast. 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐣𝐨𝐛 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫: • Technology stacks and tools a company actually uses (not just what their marketing claims) • Upcoming projects and strategic initiatives based on specialized role requirements • Company growth patterns and financial health indicated by hiring velocity • Internal challenges revealed through repeated postings for the same position • Organizational structure and reporting relationships from job descriptions • Security posture based on infosec and compliance roles being filled The tools that make this investigative work systematic rather than manual include LinkedIn Jobs itself (linkedin.com/jobs) for basic searches, Indeed (indeed.com) which aggregates postings across platforms, and Glassdoor (glassdoor.com) which adds employee reviews for context. For more sophisticated analysis, try JobScan (jobscan.co) to track posting patterns over time, or Crunchbase (crunchbase.com) which connects hiring data with funding rounds and growth metrics. The next time you see a job posting, look beyond the surface. You're not just reading a want ad—𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞.

Last week, I helped a tech product manager land an interview for a non-advertised role. Steal this strategy “𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿.” It’s about finding signals that companies will hire before they even post the role. Here's how you can use it to find hidden opportunities: 1️⃣ Follow the Money Companies often expand after securing funding. ->Use Google Alerts: “[Your target companies] + raises funding.” This gives you a head start before the hiring wave begins. 2️⃣ Watch for Growth Moves Big product launches or new service rollouts often signal team expansions. -> Crunchbase is a great tool to track company announcements, funding, and product launches. 3️⃣ Track Success Stories Teams grow after strong quarterly results. -> Monitor company earnings reports or industry news to identify those scaling up. My client used the exact method to find an AI start-up that had closed funding. He secured the interview by connecting with the founder before the PM role was advertised. If he can do it, so can you! Stop following the crowd. Do what others won’t, and you’ll get what others don’t! #jobsearch #interviewtips #mindset #networking #careeradvice ---------------------------------------------------------- P.S. What’s holding you back from taking that first step?

𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐛𝐨𝐦𝐛 💣: 80% 𝐨𝐟 𝐣𝐨𝐛𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞. And if you’re only applying through job portals... you’re missing the big picture. Here’s what no one told me early in my career 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻 Here’s how you find those “hidden jobs”: 1. LinkedIn Posts > LinkedIn Jobs I’m not talking about the job section. Search “Profile Hiring” around 6 PM daily — real people post real jobs there. Scroll for 30 mins. Look for posts with emails or names, not “Comment YES if interested.” (Those rarely lead anywhere.) 2. Talk to people I know, networking feels like a buzzword — but it works. Let your connections know you’re exploring. Reach out to people working in your dream companies. A quick “Hey, I’d love to connect and learn more about your work” can open doors. 3. Recruitment firms are gold Search for ones hiring in your field. DM the recruiters. Be specific. And please — never pay anyone upfront. 4. Cold emails still win Many startups don’t even post jobs — they just hire through referrals. Find their founders, hiring managers, or team leads. Write a short, genuine message. Follow up once or twice. Be human. Not spammy. 5. Make your resume searchable Recruiters don’t always post jobs — they search profiles. On Naukri, Shine, etc., make sure your profile has all the right keywords. Mention your skills clearly and repeat them naturally. Bottom line: Most job offers won’t show up on job portals. You’ve gotta go find them, or better yet, make it easier for them to find you. These 5 things helped me (and many of my clients) land amazing roles. Try them consistently. You’ll see the shift. 🌱 #JobSearch #HiddenJobs #CareerAdvice #LinkedInTips #RealTalk

🛑 Applying online isn’t the problem. 📉 Only applying online is. If your job search consists solely of hitting “Apply” and waiting for a reply, you’re missing out on where most hiring actually happens—the hidden job market. Here’s how to go beyond the job boards and access it: 👇 1️⃣ Build a target company list Think: Where would you love to work? Not just companies that are hiring right now. Create a shortlist of 15–20 companies that align with your skills, interests, and values. 2️⃣ Find insiders Use LinkedIn to identify people at those companies—hiring managers, team leads, or peers in your function. Don’t just connect with recruiters. 3️⃣ Start conversations Instead of pitching yourself right away, start with curiosity. Ask: 🗣 “What do you love most about working at [Company]?” 🗣 “I’m exploring roles in [X]—any advice you’d give someone breaking in?” These conversations often uncover unposted roles, referral opportunities, and insider insight that makes your next application stand out. 4️⃣ Keep applying—but smarter When you do apply online, tailor your resume, write a relevant message to someone at the company, and follow up strategically. 📣 You don’t need to network with hundreds of people. Start with 2–3 meaningful conversations per week, and you’ll be surprised how many “hidden” doors open. 💬 Have you ever landed a role that wasn’t posted? Share how it happened—your story might inspire someone today. 👇 🔁 Found this helpful? Repost to help others unlock the hidden job market.
