AI instead of GPS and satellites: How Farsight Vision by Brave1 participant changed the battlefield Artificial intelligence is the new force multiplier in modern technological warfare. AI has become a core component of many innovations developed by BRAVE1 participants. Farsight Vision is a true game changer — it streams real-time battlefield data even without internet, GPS, satellites, or despite enemy electronic warfare (EW) interference. Farsight Vision processes photos and videos from drones, using AI to generate precise 2D and 3D terrain models for rapid situational analysis in combat environments. The system integrates with all UAVs and leading combat platforms such as DELTA, Kropyva, Combat Vision, MilChat, TacticMap, and others. Thanks to Farsight Vision, the Defense Forces have gained the following advantages: ▪️ Orthophoto maps with 5–7 cm/pixel accuracy created in under an hour ▪️ Automatic detection of terrain changes and new objects ▪️ 3D terrain modeling based on drone imagery and video ▪️ Terrain analysis and operational planning without relying on satellite navigation Farsight Vision clearly demonstrates how AI can deliver a decisive advantage on the battlefield.

Summary
Drone applications in 3d battlefield mapping use unmanned aerial vehicles to capture images and videos that are processed into detailed three-dimensional maps of combat zones, enabling faster situational analysis and operational planning. This technology gives military teams and disaster responders real-time spatial awareness, even in areas where traditional navigation tools are disrupted or unavailable.
- Boost situational awareness: Use drones to quickly generate high-resolution 3d maps, helping teams understand terrain, movement, and obstacles in real time.
- Enable rapid response: Share instant 3d reconstructions across platforms so rescue and military teams can navigate collapsed buildings, blocked roads, and changing environments with confidence.
- Integrate AI solutions: Rely on artificial intelligence to detect terrain changes and new objects from drone data, reducing the need for satellite navigation and speeding up critical decision-making.

Had a great chat with Marc Langlois at Hexagon US Federal, who generously walked me through the capabilities of ARTEMIS—the Aerial Reconnaissance Tactical Edge Mapping Imagery System. Marc knows I’ve been deep into drone tech lately, and he didn’t hold back. ARTEMIS is built for the tactical edge: autonomous, portable, and designed to operate in disconnected environments. It leverages the eBee TAC drone (Blue UAS cleared, DIU-approved) and integrates with the Google Earth Enterprise Platform to deliver secure, high-res 2D/3D mapping—perfect for warfighters and peacekeepers who need situational awareness without compromise. What stood out most? It’s all commercially available, no ITAR restrictions, and deployable across a wide range of missions—from corridor mapping and coalition sharing to disaster response and humanitarian aid. Marc’s passion for empowering operators with intuitive, mission-ready tech is contagious. I left the conversation inspired by how far we’ve come—and how much more is possible when innovation meets purpose. Thanks again, Marc. Always appreciate learning from someone who’s shaping the future of geospatial intelligence. https://lnkd.in/gbDpXdiF #DroneTech #GeospatialInnovation #ARTEMIS #HexagonUSFederal #BlueUAS #WarfighterSupport #PeacekeeperTools #SituationalAwareness
