“I applied to 200 jobs on Naukri, LinkedIn, Indeed… but no one even saw my resume.” This is what one of my students told me, eyes filled with doubt. And I wasn’t surprised. Because after reviewing 60,000+ resumes, I’ve seen the same painful truth: 90% get rejected by ATS before a human ever reads them. Not because the candidate isn’t talented. But because the resume is invisible. Here’s the reality: Recruiters spend 7 seconds skimming your resume. Job portals use ATS filters to auto-reject anything that doesn’t match keywords. And these small mistakes are costing thousands of people their dream jobs. Here are 10 game-changing details most candidates miss (don’t let yours be one of them 👇): 1️⃣ Missing Contact Info Sounds obvious, but 1 in 5 resumes don’t have a phone number or clickable email. ✅ Put your phone and professional email right at the top, ATS-readable. 2️⃣ No Clear Role Title “Intern” isn’t enough. ✅ Use: “Marketing Intern – Social Media Campaigns” instead. It tells the recruiter what you actually did. 3️⃣ Achievements Without Numbers “Handled client accounts” = vague. ✅ Try: “Managed 12 client accounts worth ₹3 Cr, improved retention by 25%.” 4️⃣ Ignoring ATS Keywords Job portals like Naukri & LinkedIn match resumes by keywords. ✅ Mirror exact job description terms in your skills/experience section. 5️⃣ Not Linking LinkedIn/Portfolio In 2025, recruiters expect proof. ✅ Always include your clickable LinkedIn URL + portfolio/GitHub/Behance links. 6️⃣ Using Fancy Templates That Break ATS Many Canva-style resumes look pretty but fail ATS scans. ✅ Stick to clean, text-based formats in Word/PDF. 7️⃣ Burying Skills at the Bottom Recruiters skim. ✅ Put a “Core Skills” section on the first half of page one. 8️⃣ Generic Summaries ❌ “I’m a hardworking professional seeking growth opportunities.” ✅ Instead: “Data Analyst with 3 years’ experience in SQL & Python, improved reporting speed by 40% at TCS.” 9️⃣ Overcrowded With Irrelevant Details Nobody needs your 12th board marks if you’re 5 years into your career. ✅ Cut the noise, keep it sharp, 1–2 pages max. 🔟 Forgetting to Proofread One typo can ruin first impressions. ✅ Run it through Grammarly + ask a peer to review. I’ve helped 50,000+ candidates land offers at companies like Google, Accenture, KPMG, Barclays, and Wipro by fixing exactly these mistakes. And trust me, your dream job isn’t far. It’s just one strong resume away. If you want my step-by-step guide on “How to Write an ATS-Friendly Resume” that got my candidates hired at top companies, comment YES and I’ll share it in my next post. #resumetips #atsresume #careercoach #jobsearchindia #interviewpreparation

𝐈 𝐆𝐞𝐭 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞: “𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐃𝐨 𝐈 𝐎𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐌𝐲 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐝𝐈𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐞?” After receiving so many messages about LinkedIn optimization, I realized it’s not just about posting content, it’s about building a profile that truly reflects your value. So, I decided to create a series: "𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱𝗜𝗻 𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗨𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱: 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀”. In this series, I’ll share actionable tips that have worked for me and will work for you too! 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐔𝐩: 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 — 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐬 Your “About” section shouldn’t just be a professional bio. It’s your digital first impression — and it needs to make people want to learn more. When I first wrote mine, it sounded like this: "Dynamic and results-driven professional with experience in data analysis and strategy." Sounds fancy but completely forgettable. Here’s how I flipped it — and you can too: 🔹 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗛𝗼𝗼𝗸 Your first line should make people curious: ❌ “Marketing Specialist with 5 years of experience.” ✅ “I help brands turn complex data into clear strategies that drive growth.” Catch attention from the get-go. 🔹 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲: 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺 → 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 → 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 Example: "When I joined XYZ Corp, they were struggling to make sense of their customer data. I designed a streamlined data reporting system that cut processing time by 40% and improved insights accuracy. Now, I’m passionate about helping companies turn numbers into strategy.” It’s personal, purposeful, and impactful. 🔹 𝗘𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 Encourage interaction: “Let’s connect if you’re passionate about leveraging data to drive strategy!” 📌 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝘼𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙𝙣’𝙩 𝙨𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙖 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙢𝙚 — 𝙞𝙩 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙨𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙖 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮. One of the easiest ways to make your resume stronger? Shift from listing what you did… to showing why it mattered. A lot of extremely qualified people are writing resumes like this: ↳ “Managed scheduling and communication between teams” ↳ “Led team meetings” ↳ “Tracked deliverables” Totally valid. But here’s the thing: That’s the truth of what happened Not the story of the value you brought. ✨ This is where SSIP comes in: a 4-part formula I use to make resumes pop: → Scope – What did you own or lead? → Scale – How many? How big? How often? → Impact – What changed because of you? → Positioning – Why does it matter for the role you want next? Here’s what it can look like: BEFORE: Coordinated onboarding for new hires. AFTER: Coordinated onboarding for 60+ new hires across 3 regions; built cross-team checklist and automated intake to reduce setup delays by 50%. See the shift? It’s not about “doing more” — It’s about helping people see the value in what you’ve already done. If you’re refreshing your résumé right now, here are 4 questions to ask: ↳ What did I take ownership of? ↳ What would’ve stalled without me? ↳ What improved because of my work? ↳ How does this connect to where I’m going? Your story is powerful. Let your resume reflect that. #resume

Hiring managers scan your resume asking 4 specific questions. If the top third doesn't answer all 4, it gets skipped. The questions: 1. What specific role are you targeting? 2. What contributions can you make that are better than other candidates? 3. What skills do you bring, and can you prove them? 4. What relevant results have you achieved that show you're the right fit? Most resumes bury this information. Or worse, don't include it at all. Here's how to stack the top third of your resume so hiring managers get their answers in seconds: 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗷𝗼𝗯 𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗲 + 𝟯 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 Put this at the very top. Don't make them guess what you do. 𝗔 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻'𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗲 Not "results-driven professional with 15 years of experience." Instead: "Operations Director who cut fulfillment costs 40% while scaling from 50 to 200 daily orders." Your differentiators go here. 𝟯 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗿 Choose results that directly match the job's needs, problems, and goals. Not just your proudest moments — your most relevant ones. 𝗔 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗸𝗲𝘆𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 These are the qualifications the ATS is scanning for and the hiring manager wants to see at a glance. 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀-𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘂𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 Use metrics, data, and figures. Employers judge your future performance based on your past performance. Not: "Managed customer service team" Instead: "Led 12-person customer service team, improving response time from 48 hours to 4 hours and raising satisfaction scores from 72% to 94%" The more specific you are, the more believable your results. Your resume isn't a job history. It's an argument for why YOU are the answer to their problem. Stack the top third. Answer the 4 questions. Increase interviews. What's on the top third of YOUR resume right now? 👇 ♻️ Share to help other job seekers 💡 Plus, whenever you're ready... If you're aiming for the C-suite, clarity around your value is non-negotiable. Too often, I see smart, capable leaders stumble in interviews or on paper—not because they lack experience, but because they haven’t taken the time to reflect. Before you make your next move, spend real time thinking through: What business challenge were you hired to solve? How did that challenge evolve over time? What metrics were you accountable for? How did you deliver against those KPIs? What is your target role or company truly looking for? In what ways have you already demonstrated that you're the right person to meet those needs? What have you consistently achieved across your career? What are you known for? What differentiates you from other high performers? What’s the most innovative initiative you've led in the talent space? How large were the teams you led—and how did you retain and grow them? What were your employee engagement scores? Are you proud of those results? What did you learn from them? This exercise isn’t quick. It may take several focused hours. But this kind of reflection is what sharpens your narrative and elevates your positioning. Self-awareness is a competitive advantage. The "easy way" isn’t the fast way—it’s the intentional way. Put in the strategic work before you hit "apply" and you'll move faster, attract better-fit opportunities, and present yourself with the clarity and confidence of a true executive. #executivepresence #careerstrategy #resume #leadership #valueproposition

Most people think they got rejected because they’re not talented. But sometimes the truth is simpler - your resume didn’t even get past the ATS. An average recruiter spends 7 seconds on your resume. And in companies using ATS (Applicant Tracking System), your resume may not even reach a human if it’s not formatted correctly. First check the ATS Score : https://bit.ly/4lGKu9y Let’s fix this problem. Here’s a quick guide to building a powerful ATS-proof resume that actually lands interviews, especially for freshers, interns, and those switching careers 👇🏼 ✅ DOs for an ATS-Friendly Resume: 1. Stick to Simple Format Use a single-column layout, no tables, fancy graphics, or multiple columns. 2. Standard Section Titles Work Best Use "Education", "Skills", "Projects", "Experience", "Certifications". 3. Use the Right Keywords Scan the job description and mirror their terminology—especially for tools, tech, and role names. 4. Highlight Projects (with Links!) Projects speak louder than grades. Add GitHub / Live links where possible. 5. Use a Professional Font & Tone Stick to Calibri, Arial, Times New Roman. Keep it clear and confident. 6. Tailor Every Resume No one-size-fits-all. Change the summary, skills, and keywords based on each job role. 7. Keep It 1 Page (if Fresher) Be crisp. Only include what adds value. 🚫 DON’Ts That Hurt Your Resume: ❌ Objective statements - replace with a Professional Summary. ❌ Personal info like DOB, religion, marital status - not needed. ❌ Bright colors, decorative fonts - it’s not a poster. ❌ “References available on request” - redundant. ❌ Overloading with technical skills you don’t actually know - backfires during interviews. ❌ Long paragraphs - use bullet points. ❌ Unprofessional emails like cutie_pie@xyz.com - please, no. Bonus Resources : ✅ Free Resume Template to Download: 👉🏻 https://bit.ly/4eDybIQ Whether you’re in college, switching careers, or in between jobs, your resume is your first impression. 💡 Don’t just apply blindly. Prepare smartly. Present smartly. Career success is not about luck. It’s about clarity + consistency. 👉🏼 Tag a friend who’s applying for jobs. 👉🏼 Save this post and come back when you're building your resume. 👉🏼 Follow for more career, internship, and job search strategies. #CareerTips #ResumeTips #Internship #Freshers #JobSearch #ATS #CareerGrowth #LinkedInTips #SaumyaSinghGuides

Your “About” section is losing you deals. Most bios look like this: “Experienced finance professional with a demonstrated history of working in the industry…” Translation? You sound like everyone else. Here’s the truth: → People don’t connect to job titles. → They connect to stories. → They trust people they understand. — Here’s the format I use to rewrite bios for clients: 1. What you believe about your industry 2. The specific niche/problem you solve 3. Why you (origin insight or POV) 4. Proof you can back it up 5. What action they should take next (CTA) Not fluff. Positioning. — 🧠 One family office advisor added this line after we reworked her bio: “I help second-gen wealth holders design financial strategies that align with their values, not just their balance sheets.” One sentence. Result? → Podcast feature in a leading wealth management show → Invite to co-author a white paper Why? Because she didn’t just tell people what she does. She told them what she stands for. That’s what sticks. — 👩🏼💻 𝘋𝘔 𝘮𝘦 “𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚” 𝘪𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘳𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘣𝘪𝘰 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘢 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘯𝘦𝘵. ♻️ 𝘍𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘩-𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸 Mariam Gogidze

We have a client, a 30-year HR veteran, former Chief Human Resources Officer, world-class crisis smoother-over, and bone tired human. When her company was acquired, she took a generous severance, took a vacation, and took up pickleball. (She hated it. Quit after three weeks.) When she came to us for services, her mandate was simple. No more 60-hour weeks No board seats, no consulting hustle Just a solid, low-key role where she can lend her expertise without inheriting the nightly stress sweats She was worried no one would take her seriously. Too experienced. Too senior. Too… much. So we helped her own that. So we wrote a résumé and cover letter that tackled the “you’re overqualified” elephant in the room head-on: “I understand my background might look larger than life for this role. Here’s the thing, I don’t want to lead anymore. I want to contribute. I want to mentor quietly. I will not edge out your current leadership. Think of me as seasoned backup, ready when you need me, invisible when you don’t.” No fluff. No corporate clichés. Just straight talk that instantly defuses hiring managers’ biggest fear: the stealth takeover. Results so far 🌟 Three interviews in two weeks 🌟Two hiring managers said “This is the most refreshingly honest cover letter I’ve ever read” 🌟One recruiter laughed out loud, then scheduled the interview on the spot If you’re in the “semi-retired but not done yet” chapter, don’t pretend otherwise. Call it what it is. Address the fit-factor. Promise the support, not the throne. Your resume should say “I come in peace” instead of “I come for your job”? Not every job search is about climbing. Sometimes it’s about slowing down, shifting priorities, and finding peace in purpose, not power. If that’s the season you’re in, we can help you say that with clarity and confidence. No jargon. No smoke. No pretending. Just your story, told truthfully. #ResumeWriting #ChangeOfPace #StillWorking

Here’s what recruiters actually look for in your LinkedIn summary (and what makes them hit ‘Message’ instead of ‘Back’). After reviewing 100+ profiles and helping hundreds of job seekers land interviews, I noticed a clear pattern: The summaries that work all follow this behind-the-scenes formula 👇 🔹 1. Hook Them in the First 3 Lines Because that’s all they see before “...see more” ✅ Mention your current role + impact ✅ Highlight your biggest achievement ✅ State your career mission in 1 crisp sentence Example: “I help fast-growing startups reduce hiring time by 50% through strategic talent partnerships.” 🔹 2. Showcase Your Expertise Use the middle section to position your credibility ✅ Add 3–4 key accomplishments (with numbers) ✅ Mention tools, certifications, or relevant industries Example: “Scaled recruitment for Series A–C startups | 200+ hires closed in 2 years | Certified HRBP | ATS expert” 🔹 3. Add Your Personality This is where most professionals go cold. ✅ Write in first person ✅ Keep paragraphs short (1–2 lines) ✅ Make it feel like a coffee chat “I believe hiring isn’t about filling roles — it’s about solving real business problems through people.” 🔹 4. Insert Strategic Keywords Recruiters use search filters. So speak their language. ✅ Use job title + skills + tools in natural flow ✅ Add location if targeting a region ✅ Include industry-specific terms “Specialized in FMCG hiring | Excel | Zoho | Sourcing Strategy | Employer Branding | Gurgaon-based” 🔹 5. End with a Call-to-Action Guide them on what to do next ✅ Mention your inbox ✅ Say you're open to conversations ✅ Or direct them to your work “If you're building a high-growth team or want to discuss hiring strategies, let's connect.” ❌ What to Avoid: - Writing in third person - Overusing buzzwords like “go-getter” or “team player” - Long paragraphs without breaks - Copy-pasting from your resume ✅ Final tip: Update your summary every quarter. LinkedIn is not a “set it and forget it” platform, it’s your living, breathing digital pitch. ✨ If you found this helpful and want more hands-on guidance on LinkedIn profile writing, resume wins, and job strategy… I’m hosting a free webinar: “Get Your Dream Job with My Career Spotlight Framework.” 📍 Details are in the comments.
