From the second world occurrence of the species, townendite occurs here as pale lilac, vitreous masses scattered in sodalite matrix, typically associated with aegirine. Some samples may also have minor, deep red villiaumite, and exposure of the hyperalkaline matrix to a humid environment will often result in an efflorescent coating of white thermonatrite. Dr. Igor Pekov confirmed the mineral; Excalibur Mineral Corp. specimen and image.
