A piece of weathered calcite marble showing a horizontal layer of tremolite grains standing out in relief and surrounded by pale blue chrysocolla and green malachite from the alteration of tiny chalcopyrite grains in the marble. The marble is from the Basal Member of The Straits Schist, which crop out at the quarry, and the presence of copper as chalcopyrite grains (with colorful alteration) is similar to the same marble at the Stevenson Mine in Oxford.

6.9 x 6.8 x 3.0 cm. This less well-known quarry in gneissic or schistose rocks has produced superb specimens of quartz with zeolites and adularia in alpine clefts and a wide variety of copper minerals (MINDAT). This is a very fine and deceptive combination plate. Shrub-like clusters of creamy stilbite blades totally cover one side of the piece. The other side shows the glassy quartz points the stilbites were deposited on. Choice and uncommon combination material for the locale.
