Prisa was also among Latin America's top digital radio brands in early 2023. O Assunto, a news discussion podcast run by the Brazilian media company Grupo Globo, and Titulares Deportivos – by the Colombian network Grupo BluRadio – had around *** and *** thousand downloads that month, respectively.
Voices from the outside
Throughout Spanish-speaking Latin America, all but one of the most downloaded podcasts belong to foreign companies. Prisa Radio from Spain is responsible for *** podcasts in the top 20, including Así las Cosas con Carlos Loret de Mola, with about ** thousand downloads.
New podcasts, old media conglomerates
All four Brazilian podcasts in the top 10 belong to legacy media groups. O Assunto and Resumão Diário are run by Rio de Janeiro-based Grupo Globo, the largest media holding in South America. O Síndico and Boletim Folha are produced by Grupo Folha. The two companies are also publishers of Brazil's most-read daily newspapers: Folha de S. Paulo and O Globo.
