Global spending on telecom services is expected to reach ***** trillion U.S. dollars by 2024, slightly higher than the ***** trillion U.S. dollars spent on telecom services during 2019. The overall growth forecast is largely driven by increased spending in the Americas, as the Asia Pacific and Europe, Middle East and Africa regions are expected to remain flat. The stagnation in growth seen between 2019 and 2022 is attributable to the effects of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, with the increase in services from more people working at home offset by the slowdown in travel and tourism, and prevailing economic conditions.
