Tahiris Castillo

Tahiris Castillo is a passionate advocate for human rights with a strong background in legal advocacy and community development. Fluent in Spanish, English, and Italian, Tahiris brings valuable linguistic and cultural expertise to her work. As a survivor of torture and an asylee, she is deeply committed to the causes of human rights and social justice, dedicating herself to the empowerment and dignity of fellow survivors. Her professional journey includes serving as a Case Manager at The Law Office of Edward W. Neufville III, LLC, where she played a key role in preparing immigration applications. As a Community Liaison at CASA of Maryland, Tahiris strengthened her skills in community engagement, working closely with diverse populations to promote inclusive environments. Her leadership experience extends to her role as a Human Rights Advocate at Comisión Permanente de Derechos Humanos CPDH-Nicaragua, where she was instrumental in promoting international human rights standards. Additionally, Tahiris has volunteered with Wisconsin/Nicaragua Partners of the Americas, focusing on education and social empowerment projects.
