The Library Reverse Advent Calendar

The Library invites you to participate in the special initiative!

Consult the calendar to guide you on what items to bring (not necessarily following the date order), bring the item to the Library and leave it in a designated area in front of the Circulation Desk.

Please do not donate expired food or fresh / frozen items. All food items received will be donated to the UM Chaplaincy Food Store.

Consult the Rev. Prof. Peter Serracino Inglott collection at Valletta Campus Library

This donated collection consists of works which were owned by Rev. Prof. Peter Serracino Inglott (1936-2012). While still being in progress, it currently comprises over 1700 items in various languages and subjects, including politics, theology, religion, philosophy, education, sociology, economy, literature, art, architecture, history, as well as biographical works. Such a multidisciplinary collection with mostly unique titles, available only at the Valletta Campus Library, is certainly a treasure of knowledge waiting to be discovered.

What's new in Melitensia

Melitensia's book of the month – December 2025

"So we can do our best.": Care in children’s relationships with teachers, written by Prof. Mary Darmanin, and published by the Malta University Press.

The recent winner of the National Book Prize, this volume examines the student-teacher relationship in middle childhood from the perspective of children in primary schools. Through rich, verbatim quotations, it reveals how young learners express their needs, hopes, and experiences of both positive and less positive relationships with their teachers. Darmanin explores how children view these relationships and how they perceive care and respect for their person. After all, as discussed in the book, children’s perspectives answer questions that teachers, parents, professionals, and policy-makers ultimately ask.

The list of new Melitensia acquisitions is available online.
