Last month, Prof. Conrad Thake launched a short video-documentary entitled ‘The Memorialization of the Loss of Human Life in War – Revisiting Antonio Sciortino’s ‘Temple of the British Empire to the Unknown Soldier’, which event was held at the church of St Catherine of Italy, Valletta. Following the screening of the immersive digital video documentary, there was an interactive panel discussion on the theme with the participation of Prof. Conrad Thake as the project creator, Martin Bonnici in his capacity of the film director, and Dr Mark Sagona, head of the Department of Art and Art History.

After the discussion, Mr Godwin Vella, on behalf of Heritage Malta, launched Prof. Conrad Thake’s publication entitled Invention, Quotation, and Beyond – Antonio Sciortino’s Project of the Temple of the British Empire to the Unknown Soldier.
