UN report highlights critical role of supreme audit institutions in assessing national action to deliver the Sustainable Development Goals

WHAT: Webinar to present the findings of the World Public Sector Report 2025

As countries work to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), supreme audit institutions (SAIs) are emerging as critical partners in assessing countries’ public finance and the effectiveness of national policies for equity, climate action and preparedness on the SDGs. The World Public Sector Report 2025 — a biennial publication of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) —calls for stronger integration of audit findings into national policy and planning.

Given their central role in national accountability systems, SAIs are uniquely positioned to provide evidence-based insights that can help governments strengthen accountability and drive progress on the SDGs.
