Featured article: Land Air Sea

Land Air Sea is the third studio album by The Special Goodness.

Land Air Sea was initially released by the independent label The Control Group in 2003 and later remastered and reissued on Epitaph Records in 2004. Due to the by-now cemented lineup and refined material, Patrick Wilson considers Land Air Sea to be the band's "first true release", despite it being the third official release under the Special Goodness name. "Pay No Mind" and "Pardon Me" originally appeared on The Special Goodness in 1998, with "You Know I'd Like...", "Life Goes By", and "Whatever's Going On" originally appearing on At Some Point, Birds And Flowers Became Interesting in 2001.

Featured song: "Life Goes By"

"Life Goes By" is a song by The Special Goodness, Pat Wilson's side band apart from Weezer. It was the single for the 2003 release of Land Air Sea.

"Life Goes By" is an upbeat rock song with lyrics reflecting a desire to accomplish something before life gets away from you. Three recorded versions appear on three different album releases, and more versions appear on demos.

The single includes the 2003 album versions of the title song and "Day in the Autumn" plus a demo of an otherwise unreleased song called "Natural". This 'demo' sounds just as produced as anything on the album; it is possibly a sessions outtake.

A video for the song was directed by Karl Koch, and features stop-motion effects, as well as some rather spectacular stunt driving.

Featured quote: Pat Wilson on opening for Weezer with his band The Special Goodness; March 2003.

"It was really fun. It was more fun because no one was pissed about it. We were on the second stage outside, and the kids were like, “Oh my God. I had no idea you could do that.” And then they’re like “Why don’t you do that in Weezer?” I tell them that it’s sort of in the cards, but I hate playing drums and singing at the same time."
