A brown Hematite pseudomorph after a radiating Amphibole mineral; possibly Actinolite from Section 4958m of the Stanley River Tinfield. From an old collection - this material is pictured in the Stanely River Tinfield a report by the Tasmanian Mines Department - 1914 - see Page 103.

T4H-9UMHematite Fe2O3 , Quartz SiO2
Mount Lyell Mines, Queenstown, Queenstown district, West Coast municipality, Tasmania, AustraliaDimensions: 41 mm x 17 mm x 10 mm
Bright blood red Hematite film inclusion inside a flat D.T Quartz floater from the Mt Lyell Copper Mine, Queenstown, Tas. What I find interesting about this crystal besides the crystals shape are the shrinkage type marks in the red Hematite film some 2mm under the crystals surface. Measures 41x17x10mm.
APT-EHHHematite Fe2O3 , Quartz SiO2
Blythe River iron mines, Stowport, Burnie City, Tasmania, AustraliaField of View: 300 mm
Quartz-haematite breccias, comprising much of the iron formation.
HGQ-8L4Hematite ? Fe2O3
Dundas mineral field, Zeehan mining district, West Coast municipality, Tasmania, AustraliaDimensions: 7 cm x 11 cm x 7 cm
The Australian dealer states they obtained this from an old Glen Innes (northern NSW) Mineral Club members collection, and they had self collected it. Unfortunately, no further exact location details were given, and iridescent hematite I believe is unusual for the area. Startling striking and vivid colours.
