Blast to the Past…Valentines Day Style!

Upon opening the mailbox today, we found two pink, red, and white envelopes covered in hearts addressed to each of us!  Immediately upon breaking the seal of the envelopes we found ourselves whisked away on a whirling trip back to the third grade.  Check out these totally retro and awesome good ol’ classic Valentines Day cards courtesy of Ma (and Pops) Zinke.  Thanks Ma, we love you too!

These tulips started blooming in our apartment this week, bringing a touch of spring amidst the persistent winter frost.

Shout Out

picture-20Here’s a little shout out to my husband who is a Winner of the American College of Physicians 2009 National Medical Students Competition in the Clinical Vignette Category for his  abstract titled “Humate-P for treatment of persistent, life threatening epistaxis in a patient with Glanzmann’s Thrombasthenia: a case report”

Simply put: THIS IS A BIG DEAL! ( There were only five winners, nationally.)

Looks like we’re heading back to Philadelphia in April so he can present his case report in front of a bunch of Doctors at the  “Internal Medicine 2009: The American College of Physicians National Scientific Meeting” (I am just excited about going back to that Mexican restaurant, and another trip!)

Way to go hun! I am so happy for you!

Me and Missy….in the snow

Missy

My dear friend, Missy, joined me for some play time in the snow last Friday.  We hit Red Rocks park just down the street from my house.  (I am not sure where these “red rocks” are, but whatever, the park has awesome views of Lake Champlain, which is frozen over!)  It was warm that day, probably 25 degrees Fahrenheit. I have decided anything below 18 is COLD and anything above that qualifies as “warm” day.
