While Rick was busy during the conference, I took time to explore downtown Philadelphia, and what can I say…I fell in love!

Rick prepared 4 weeks, for his case presentation at the American College of Physicians Conference in Philadelphia.

He spent the month of April preparing his 6 minute speech. He rehearsed it so much, that he had it memorized. I thought that was great, but I didn’t realize how great it was until I saw the other presenters, who read everything on each slide of their Powerpoint, word for word, like someone who reads a story to a child, out of a book. Others were so nervous, and you felt nervous for them. Some just nailed it too. It was so neat to see a group of young minds present some heavy duty medical stuff. Continue reading

A visit to the Newport Temple to do some work for our ancestors. It was an incredible experience…
After browsing through 10+ carrot cake recipes…the only common denominator was 4 eggs. Hardly any of them mentioned ginger or cloves…so I added spices for more flavor. Most of them mention gallons of oil. ACK! I then picked what I liked from a few recipes, and came up with this CARROT CAKE, Vanessa-fied!
