“A French Dinner to Remember!”
I don’t know how Rick & I are so blessed to have made such wonderful friends while here in Vermont.
I remember my first few months…maybe even my first year here…I didn’t know my place.
I’d cry myself to sleep because I didn’t know how to fit in, I didn’t know what to do about it. I felt lonely.
I finally decided I couldn’t do this anymore.
Needless to say, I finally started making phone calls and getting together with some of the wives of other LDS med students.
I look back and wonder what the big deal was. I have so many wonderful friends now.
Our ward had a Youth Conference on July 11th and we hiked Stowe Pinnacle with them, and some other youth from surrounding areas.
We arrived with a few minutes to spare, so I talked the kids into stopping at the Cabot Cheese factory in Stowe, for a nice sampling of CHEESE!
Then I made them put their heads through this hole.
They’re good sports, wouldn’t ya say!?
This is Kathy,
“Hi Kathy!”
My friend, Ariane (Mother of daring Josie) send me this email a few hours ago. She’s in Las Vegas for a month, visiting her family.
"On Sunday for dessert, the boys helped my mom make a strawberry trifle.
It had strawberries, vanilla pudding, and angel food cake in it (yum).
So they helped her make it and put it in the fridge that my parents have outside.
Anyway, after church, Clayton made a beeline for the fridge and opened it and began to stick his hand in it to eat it.
I caught him before he actually accomplished this and told him to knock it off - we weren't eating it yet. Then he gave me this little gem:
"If Vanessa were here, she'd let me eat it!" I seriously about died!!!!
So I say, "Why would Vanessa let you eat it?"
He says, "Because she always wants me to eat healthy fruit and strawberries are very healthy. She'd want to give it to me."
I laugh every time I think about that. Stinker.
The other day, I was telling my friend how much I love Google Reader. She looked at me like I was growing a third eye. She had no idea what I was talking about.
“Ya, once a day I just check Google Reader for any updates on my homies’ blogs, without having to check them individually.”
She’s like, “HUH!?”
Then it made me wonder how many people out there don’t know what Google Reader is, or any FeedReader for that matter.
If you already know what it is, you realize how much time you save from checking all of your friends blogs individually, wondering if they’ve updated.
For those of you who are interested, here’s how it works using a Gmail/Google account:
STEP ONE: Copy the address of a blog you read.

At the request of many friends and family, I am planning to fly to Utah around August 25th through September 1st (tentative) to photograph 15 families/future brides/graduating seniors/expecting mothers/new born babies! Continue reading
Family, BBQs, picnics, fireworks, canyons, parades, hot air balloons, 5Ks, pancake breakfasts…
All these things remind me of the 4th of July!
Diana Krall. Live. In concert. At Tanglewood. On July 4th. Are there words?
I have had my eye on this concert for months. However, we wouldn’t know until July 1st, if we’d be able to go.
Lucky for me, Rick wasn’t scheduled to work on the 4th!
Around 11:45 a.m. we headed down route 7 for 160 miles to Lenox, Massachusetts,
to see Mrs. Krall wow the crowds with her sultry voice! Aside from her hottiness, she has a great sense of humor!
Last night, around 9:35, Rick and I were standing between two parked cars, near the waterfront of Lake Champlain, at the end of a dead end road.
We were waiting for fireworks to start.
We stood and waited for 10 minutes, peering between a very large tree and a building, hopeful to see an explosion in the sky any minute. Finally, they started!
As soon an the explosives lit up the sky, we then started to hear two young boys expressing their excitement through their very expressive commentary:
“Holy HOT DOG!” They yelled!
Another firework lit up the sky,
“HOLY DOUBLE HAM CHEESEBURGER!”
And with each explosion, the comments got more and more random!
“HOLY KETCHUP AND MUSTARD…AND RANCH!”
“HOLY TUNA SANDWICH”
“HOLY HONDA CIVIC”
“HOLY DODGE NEON”
I looked at Rick, “Did he just say, ‘Dodge Neon!?”
“HOLY BOSTON RED SOX!”
“HOLY NEW YORK YANKEES…”
Then he says to his buddy, “I know my baseball!!!”
“HOLY VERMONT LAKE MONSTERS” (that’s the local minor league team)
This went on for 25 minutes.
Their dad kept telling them,
“Boys, calm down!”
Here’s wishing you a very Happy Independance Day!
